“Yes, they’re magnificent!” another follower commented about the creatures. “They certainly don’t belong in an aquarium! Animals are used for humans’ amusement and profit … they should ALL be free to live their lives as nature intended!”
this commenter need to think about the bolded for a minute.
Not sure about the seal, but the Orca defiantly looks happier in the ocean then swimming around a bathtub.
Do you think an Orca who couldn't survive on it's own should be just put out into the ocean to die or put in a facility where it could live it's life? I ask this because the people who automatically freak out don't even know if the animal in question could even live in the wild and that's why it is where it is. If it's born in captivity it's probably better for it to stay in captivity and it won't know any better anyway. Do aquariums and zoos have a habit of going into the wild and just capturing things to put on display? I don't think so, do you?

Well it only took 15 posts for someone to bring up Trump. Not a record but surely a sign of TDS.

Is that a serious question?
Why don't you look up the history of captive orcas. They weren't being taken from the oceans to be rehabilitated.

We are in the present. Not talking about what was done 40-50 years ago. It is rare that orcas are captured today. They are bred in captivity.
Do you feel the same about dogs?

Yeah, because the orcas living in the pacific northwest are endangered because of what happened 30-40 years ago. Its illegal to take them from their habitat.

And you believe they are on the endangered species list in the US because of aquariums capturing them over 40 years ago. And that is why aquariums dont go out and capture them now?
