This is what bugs me to no end. A country that has evolved to the extent the U.S. has, now reduced to significant portions of it's populace resorting to calling each other names for no other reason than their political party affiliation.

That would have been considered childish and irrelevant just a scant decade or two ago after perhaps two or more centuries of respect for each others political beliefs based upon the country continuing to grow and prosper under the leadership of BOTH of them.

I cannot get my head around how quickly it has become the norm for some to not only respectfully disagree or criticize, but to just resort to the liberals, lefties, progressives are this... the conservative, pub's, regressives are that nonsense that would have gotten you nothing but side-eye scorn had you been in any high school debate.

It's become the norm in every thread now, regardless of points being made, if they're even tertiarily discerned as being remotely affiliated with a political bent through their topic of concern, the whole enchilada of bile gets thrown at them automatically.

BINGO

Meh, no system is perfect. There was a lot of chaos here in the late 60 and 70s. We're still here.
I do worry about the young people though, they cannot handle stress like the kids raised in earlier generations.

If you are in an argument, participating, and someone makes a ridiculous claim, then asking for proof is warranted. If your entire posting history consists of nothing more than trying to cast doubt by asking for proof on anything that is "pro-this" or "anti-that", it gives the appearance of algorithm fueled posting, and should be suspect.

In short: A canned response to anything and everything to require proof is just a form of gaslighting and deflection. If it is part of an intelligent discussion, that is fine. If it is not, then it's (at least) suspect.
1) If someone is making a claim that would warrant debate and argument, the honus is on them to present sourcing of the claim UP FRONT.

2) If something obvious is not sourced but challenged then the other poster is not engaging in fair and honest discussion. We have A LOT of people posting on this forum that cannot carry on an honest discussion and they make up the bulk of my ignore list.

3) We have had nutjobs posting on this forum with grotesque partisan biases since it's inception. Just because they're worthless to hold a discussion with doesn't mean they're Russian bots, I can guarantee you we have more thousands of home-grown nutjobs for every Russian "bot".

Thank you, I'll look more closely, read your link plus Hamilton68, do some additional digging - and decide for myself.

The #walkaway campaign is heavily Russian influenced, though it may or may not have started with Russia.

Their goal is to create dissension and to weaken trust and productive communication between Americans of varying political views. So far, they have achieved a fair amount of success, thanks to many corrupt Americans who currently hold office, and who put personal gain above country.

In fact, it was Hillary Clinton and the DNC who paid for a smear document on Trump based in collaboration with Russian intelligence operatives, who provided the smear stories. Unlike your allegations, all of this is well documented and publicly established in no uncertain terms.

But let Mueller finish his investigation, by all means. That will exonerate Trump and establish the falseness of the assertions that Trump conspired with the Russians to steal the election from Hillary Clinton.
All lies. Except for the underlined part, which is true. The dossier was legit and well-documented. It was not paid for by Hillary Clinton and was not outsourced to Russian intelligence operatives.

The facts on this have been repeated so many times over the past few months and you continue to push lies about it over and over and over again.

So you believe it is not possible that many Democrats are just becoming so disgusted with the vilely anti-social antics of Antifa, MeToo, the homofascists, the NFL disrespecting of our country and our flag, the constantly shreiking leftist mass media, the #resistance, etc., to such a point that they do not want to identify with this foolishness any longer and are just walking away from the Democrat party?

You regard that as being so implausible that you feel compelled to blame this movement on Russian bots? Really?

Clinton campaign, DNC paid for research that led to Russia dossier

The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about President Trump's connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.

Marc E. Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained Fusion GPS, a Washington firm, to conduct the research.

After that, Fusion GPS hired dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer with ties to the FBI and the U.S. intelligence community, according to those people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
