And Trump fawning all over Putin at the recent summit and making himself look like Putins lapdog.
Yeah, Trump's a real bulldog when it comes to Russia. The article says that the recommendations for sanctions will be sent to Congress. It will sit in committee where old bills go to die.
If Trump puts sanctions on Russia or stands up to Putin, it's fake / just for appearances
If he does nothing, it's because he's in bed with Putin
The important thing to remember is that the cognitive dissonance reality inside my head is never shattered because it would literally cause a psychotic breakdown if I had to accept that I'm wrong

Cognitive dissonance is the concept of - a person who simultaneously holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values. Since no one person on this thread has expressed contradictory beliefs, the apparent scenario you lay out, lies within your own head.
Sorry about the impending psychotic breakdown.
A good example of cognitive dissonance, would be for example:
Believing half a dozen conflicting 'Trump Tower meeting' stories simultaneously.
Or spending your life as an Evangelical Christian then thinking it's okay when people sleep with porn stars and have affairs behind their wives backs, or telling people to vote for paedophiles like Roy Moore, because it suits your agenda.
That kind of thing.
