The whole "outdated" argument is usually only applied by detractors of the 2A. In our oh so modern and "enlightened" society there is no need for citizens to be armed.
Q: Why does the Constitution have a second amendment?
A: In case the government doesn't obey the first one.

Imagine spouting off this kind of nonsense as if the second amendment doesn’t specifically mention a well regulated militia. It takes a special kind of simpleton to legitimately believe that the framers built armed insurrection into the constitution.

So the framers who had just thrown off a government via armed insurrection, were "simpletons"?
(Hint: They aren't the simpletons..... gladhands.)

Have you read their contemporary letters? They definitely believed the people should have the right to overthrow a tyrannical government.
Amendments are effectively impossible in 2018. More evidence that the constitution is outdated.
That's an opinion. I don't share it and I think many don't share it. Amendments aren't effectively impossible, they're just extremely difficult to pass. That's kind of the point.
The Constitution was meant to be difficult to change, and require a supermajority of Congress AND the state governments, or just the state governments (Constitutional Convention), to agree in order to change it. This prevents the social_flavor_of_the_day favored by either side from being implemented by simple, small majority.
The term United STATES has meaning. States get a say, including small ones.

It takes a special kind of simpleton to think the people who just successfully pulled off armed insurrection wouldn't build it into their new constitution. People who spent their entire lives under an oppressive government, the kind the left loves to emulate, would of course build safeties against it happening again.
It's a physical manifestation of a social contract.
It's pretty, under glass, and in a cool looking building guarded by the State's henchmen.
Pay it no mind. You never signed it anyway.
And besides its written in cursive so milleniums and future gens wont even be able to read it
