Wow! Nice! I hope it passes....we will get to see who every politician stands WITH Americans or WITH immigrants who are living off of Americans hard earned dollars.

Such a plan would be a boon for American taxpayers, who currently spend about $57.4 billion a year on paying for the welfare, crime, and schooling costs of the country’s mass importation of 1.5 million new, mostly low skilled legal immigrants every year. In the last decade, the U.S. has imported more than 10 million foreign nationals and is on track to import the same amount in the coming decade if legal immigration controls are not implemented.
Several Supreme Court decisions have affirmed the right of all children in the US to attend public school without regard to immigration status, Congress cannot override SCOTUS decisions.
The National Academy of Science did not say that immigrants receive $1600 in welfare, that's a gross misrepresentation, what they said was that on the average first generations receive more from the economy than they contribute, but 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants contribute more than they receive. Put in it's proper perspective it could lead to an argument about some of our 'taker states' that receive more in federal aid than they pay in.
CIS is not a reliable source
Almost all legal immigrants (and the vast majority are legal) have to prove they can support themselves before they are give a green card.
Undocumented immigrants are already ineligible for public benefits under the terms of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996
And there is no real "plan", this is just more ongoing talk from the Trump team, it started in 2017 with a rumor that he had signed an E.O. banning immigrants from receiving welfare, this "plan" will deny citizenship to immigrants who apply for and receive benefits while here on a green card. It's not going to happen, so don't get too excited https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/tr...rants-welfare/
Quit destroying their countries, we actually save billions more and fewer have to come here.
How is the US destroying South and Central America OR Mexico? Why don't they head to Brazil or Argentina or Uruguay or Paraguay? Still among her own people....nope because they can get more welfare here.

This thread doesn't make sense to me because legal immigrants are already banned from getting welfare.
I highlighted that above. They can't get in unless they have a sponsor. The sponsor signs papers saying they will support them if something happens to their situation so that they will not have to get welfare. They are NOT eligible for welfare. What a waste of time to try to make a new law where there already IS a law. Just ENFORCE the existing law.
Illegals can't get welfare either. We are discussing nothing. Nothing to see here.

Obviously its not being enforced...no surprise there. Past administrations always enforced what rules they wanted and the ones they didn't they didn't enforce. I know illegals here get welfare....its sickening.
Or we could repeal the Trump tax scam and reduce our debt by 2 trillion.
