Children, particularly kids as young as nine and eleven, aren't remotely capable of gauging what represents an unbearable condition. This is insane.

they also have to be terminally ill. So no, Crohn's Disease or something similar wouldn't be sufficient.
And sorry, but I think it's insane to believe that children's don't know if they are in unbearable pain.
I'm not saying that means I'm ok with this - like Catgirl, I think I'm undecided. It's tragic to even think about these things, but also don't know that I would try to force my terminally ill child in constant unbearable pain to keep living if he expressed the desire to put an end to things. I just can't even make my mind go there, and I suspect the parents in these cases felt the same way until they were put in a position of not having any other choice but to consider these decisions.
