The graph amply points out the rich getting richer while the average working man gets nothing, rather amazing considering most of trumps base are on that blue line.

"When it comes to individual income taxes, you may have seen some charts like these from Mother Jones, which show that while the incomes of those at the top have spiraled upwards, the share of taxes they pay has dropped precipitously…"

As the charts above show, we REALLY need to give more money to the rich... They are suffering.

Trump is the quintessential sociopathic POS...along with his soulless kindred spirits on the right. The astounding part is that his fan base just keeps sucking it up.

The leftists are carefully leaving out all the people who were making $0 a few years ago (unemployed), who are making $50,000 or more this year. That's a wage increase too, you know. And a major one.

But it's not included in these charts. It's the only way the leftists can make them look bad.

Many in this thread have rejected the chart in the OP by claiming that it doesn't show the drop in unemployment due to the Trump Tax Cut.

So let's drag some facts into the discussion. Trump Tax Cuts enacted in 4Q2017, effective in 1Q2018. Unemployment rate in 4Q2017 was about 4.1%. Current unemployment rate is about 3.9%. (source)

Yes, that's a big 0.2% difference. For all practical purposes we were already at full employment before the tax cuts went into effect.

Bottom line - the tax cut failed to boost take-home pay in any significant way for nearly all of people subsisting at the lower end of the income scale. The point made by the chart presented in the OP still stands unrefuted - the benefits of the Trump tax cuts went overwhelmingly to corporate profits, not working wages.

That poor ******* was earning minimum wage before Trump, but at least now more people are earning more than $0 like Roboteer said. The rest of the complaints are just envy.

You could count the number of those people on your fingers and toes. And you wouldn't need all your toes.

That only proves the Laws of Economics are working as intended.

The purpose of Demand-pull Inflation is to stop consumers from depleting, overusing or over-consuming resources, goods and services.

The "Inflation" data is also grossly misleading. Data is only obtained from 83 metropolitan statistical areas out of 400 metropolitan statistical areas, or about 20%.

Since the data is an average, we can infer that some areas increased more than others, while other areas had no change or actually decreased. That is in fact, true, since the San Diego-Carlsbad area of California experienced a 0.5% decrease in prices.

To claim that all American workers are suffering under "Inflation" is absurd on its face, since it is not true.

So is your graph, which only includes production workers, instead of all workers.

That's probably because including all workers would have shown wages increasing.

Any time someone cherry-picks data, you have to ask, "Why?"

Can you show us some evidence Trump has even mentioned "trickle down?"

Sorry I wasn't clear.

I wasn't referring to the people whom the government calls "unemployed". That's only the people who are still actively seeking jobs. It leaves out the millions who dropped out of the workforce entirely during the Obama era. They exhausted their unemployment benefits years ago, and so the government pretends they somehow don't want jobs any more. So the govt doesn't count them as "unemployed".

Now that industry is recovering and hiring more, those people are taking jobs in a flood. But since they weren't counted as "unemployed", the "Unemployment Rate" doesn't change, even though millions who weren't working then are working now.

Those are among the people who were getting $0 a few years ago, but are getting $50,000 or more now.

And the leftists are still desperately leaving them off their carefully-constructed charts, to pretend going from $0 to $50,000+ somehow isn't a pay increase.

As I said, the only way the leftists can make President Trump's economic turnaround look bad, is to lie about it like that.

What a strange thing to brag about. How many people do you think were making $50,000 last year, but are making $0 this year? That, would be considered a wage drop.
