Maybe when police officers quit shooting people running away, people will stop protesting them.
Wahh. Maybe the cops should just stay at the station and let the communists and the American Patriots fight it out and then come in and clean up the mess..I mean since the communists hate the cops and all I sure wouldn't want to protect them.

Or they could simply not kill people who aren’t threatening them.

Don't commit a crime or run from the cops and its amazing how quick they let you go! I have had PLENTY of run ins with the cops and NEVER had a gun pulled on me because I was respectful and did as I was told.
Charlottesville rally turns into anti police protest
Of course. Because despite huge buildups in the media about how white-supremacists, Nazis etc. were coming, none actually showed up. But a lot of whiny liberals, extreme-left antifa thugs, and other spoiled brats did.
And having nothing to protest about, they fell back on their old standards: We hate cops, we want more free stuff, we'll keep rioting and destroying things until the world respects us etc.

Police officers, who represent the government, can not and should not kill people for disobedience. If you think that’s okay for them to do, that speaks to your character.
Glad there was nobody hurt. They'll feel the backlash of these protests in their communities, unfortunately. It might just take that first before we can come to the understanding that there will be a percentage of mistakes made that end in serious injury or death.
Like I always say, the police are human beings, not Robocops. Humans make mistakes, you can count on it. If we don't want mistakes made by the police then we need to rethink how we are going to deal with crime in our country. Maybe robots will be the solution they seek along with cameras everywhere. They won't get what they want from a human. It's just not possible.
All they'll get from human police is a hesitation to serve, and do their job. Good luck with that!
Hopefully, we can say the same about the protests in front of The White House this afternoon.
