Sarah Sanders today in the press briefing citing job numbers.

So off base -- fake news.

But you know what --- Trump has brainwashed his base so much -- they will say the facts are fake news and Sanders was right.

LOLOL.

It's fake news in the sense that it's not really news at all. Local news agencies are guilty of this, but often times it's because there really is nothing else to report on.

Example: Instead of reporting on a shooting or robbery, they choose to report on how friendly a local dairy farm is because reporting on the shooting may hurt tourism and give the city a bad reputation.

Here's a true example that just happened yesterday: A mob of 30+ teens were robbing and beating people on Michigan Ave in Chicago. I haven't seen a single news report about it, probably because they don't want to scare tourists away.

Fake means false or made up. Your opinion that a story is not newsworthy does not make the story false or made up.

Fake news is any negative press the Trump and his band of crooks don't like. Doesn't matter that if it is true.

It all started with the Steele dossier that Trump didn't like, the majority of which has been corroborated.

In this case Melissa Howard took it one step further by creating a fake degree and then calling it fake news when she got caught.

The right have got to the stage that they believe their own lives.
It's what George Orwell called 'doublethink'.

Nah, I don't agree with most of the posters here.

Melissa Howard was caught telling a lie. Her lie is not fake news, it's just a lie.

Fake News is a website, a YouTube channel, a Facebook page, or any published outlet designed to look like a legitimate source of information but is a front for publishing false information or propaganda. Examples:

https://worldnewsdailyreport.com/
https://yournewswire.com/

The original fake news were some of the supermarket tabloids.

Trump uses the phrase "fake news" as a political weapon against CNN. Some leftists say Fox News is fake news too. They are both wrong, they are real news, but delivered with a varying degrees of spin or bias. Not the same as actual Fake News.

Ms Howard also posted a picture of herself holding her "degree", which the university says is not one of their degrees.

Ms Howard's campaign consultant characterizes the story as "fake news". Her husband is ill, and Ms Howard is focusing on him rather than on "fake news".

I'm unclear on why this is fake news. She did state that she had completed her degree, on her candidate bio as well as while she was out campaigning. She did a post a picture of herself holding a framed (handsomely framed) degree which it has turned out to be fraudulent. She is running for office, and lying about her credentials is pertinent to her qualifications as a candidate. So how is this fake news?
Fake news is just what it says, fake news. News that people don't want to hear, or don't like being reported doesn't count as fake news.

Case in point: Pizzagate.

The fact that she faked a diploma isn't fake news. It was reported truthfully, and she apologized for it. Just because she doesn't like what is being reported doesn't make it fake news. (Are you listening President Trump?)

That would depend on how it's presented etc.

Comments taken out of context in order to slant the issue to a certain perspective or agenda for instance.

The old axiom of two blind men attempting to describe opposite ends of an elephant comes to mind.

MSM says that Trump is racist because he attacks black people in Twitter.

MSM does not mention that Trump frequently praises black people on Twitter.

MSM does not mention that Trump praises and attacks all kinds of people on Twitter.

MSM is lying —————> FAKE NEWS
