Ok, I got my DNA results the other day. Now here is my question.
As per my DNA test, I am 65% European, 25% Native American and 10% Asian.
Anyone know which one is my race at the Census Form?

I think you would check all three, but it's reported as mixed race in the end.

Could be wrong.

See, the first (original) post is one MORE example as to why I think it is just stupid for any kind of form to ask someone to list their race!

Maybe they should just substitute skin color for race and include one of the make-up match strips for foundation that women use, listing the colors in increasing order of darkness or lightness from 1-20, like albino (or pearl) to ebony, and just have people write in the appropriate number. (And for anyone who is wondering, I am definitely NOT serious about this!)

And, yes, I do know that race and skin color are not synonymous!

And why is it so important for anyone to know what race you are?!

Which ever one you most identify as. No one cares what you put.

That's a typical profile for a Mexican with more Spanish than indigenous ancestry. On AncestryDNA, Native American includes all indigenous peoples of North, Central, and South America.

There is a mixed race option on the questionnaire. You could choose that one if you wanted.

It's your choice. The census bureau probably isn't all that persnickity about which box you check, as long as it isn't wildly off.

But that's a really neat mixture you have there. I did the 23 and Me analysis and it was very boring, except that I had a lot of Neanderthal and just a smidgen of Native American.

It also includes indigenous people of Puerto Rico, of which my American born DIL got 20%. Fair skinned, blue eyed, blonde. Hello, you Pocahontas Warren bashers?

For what it's worth, my daughter's results included 17% Iberian (Spain) and 5% North African. Can she claim Hispanic and Black heritage as well? This is from my Mom's Sicilian side. I wonder what MY DNA would show?

Basically, I would say we are "mutts". The majority of Americans probably are as well.

I have not seen that option yet.

Here's your bigger concern.

Did you give them personally identifiable identification to go with that DNA test? If you haven't, then don't.
