GOOD! DOJ won't do their job and fire that traitor Ohr he needs to be the first! ALL of the officials under Obama need it stripped as well.
Strip the security clearance's and strip the bark off them too. I'm thinking full body cavity search with a firehose at 90 psi. That should cleanse them of any secrets.

Trump is an even bigger mass murderer. Never forget Ryan Owens the navy seal killed in the Trump botched Yemen raid.

So I guess Trump should go too?

They need not be silenced, they can continue to express their opinions if they choose to. Those who still have their clearance may feel silenced but they still risk losing their job if they criticize him.
As for history and all this information/wisdom Brennan has that will be lost etc, c'mon. Intelligence gathering is so big and so cutting edge what he knows will be so old very quickly.
I think it is big drama over nothing. Who cares if Patraeus lost his clearance? or Susan Rice?
Ok, so I guess you have never had a clearance...

TS is 5, S is 10, the SF-86 is redone at the 5 year point and covers both. When Brennan or anyone quits a job that they had a clearance, the clearance is still "active" for a period of time and they can use it to find another job. It is not uncommon to see people work as security guards needing the clearance while they are in between their professional jobs. If someone lets their clearance become inactive, the background check is still current though you will need to redo the SF-86. But places can still use the information as the background check for non-clearance reasons.

As far as Brennan, he may have needed it becomes the agency would request his consulting/advisement on a number of issues, which would require his need to access classified information. This is not unusual. It is not uncommon for people in the public and private sector to continue to provide services even after they are no longer employed there. I did this with my last position, though i quit, i still consulted them through several process changes, and I required access to internally control information to do it.

The issue of revoking Brennan's clearance was clearly political as it seems the agency still has a use for his services, and no one has demonstrated he has violated anything that would result in his clearance being revoked.

Because he has more knowledge regarding a number of threats to the country than many of the current officials do. It is in the national interest to keep the experts with experience around. Especially with a president like this--he knows nothing about world affairs.

Because Trump is doing this to be a vindictive POS. How do we know this? Michael Flynn, who has been arrested for federal offenses, who used his position for political activity, and to make money and enrich himself, STILL has a security clearance. So we know this is being done for little man Trump to feel better, and he could not care less about the national interest.

Because being critical of the president is not illegal or against any rules.

"...First off, Brennan is a former CIA director of recent service. In that role, Brennan held responsibility for leading the nation's primary intelligence service in collection and assessment activities against high-priority threats. That gives Brennan the joined expertise and experience to guide current policymakers and their staffs on a wide range of concerns. These concerns include an increasingly expansionist China, a Russian government determined to degrade Western security, a North Korea that is building a nuclear strike capability against the U.S., an Iran wracked by political instability and threatening attacks on America, and a wide range of non-state actor threats from the likes of the Islamic State, drug cartels, organized crime syndicates, and weapons smugglers...

...Brennan also brings specific expertise to areas that are increasingly important to U.S. interests in the 21st century. Take Saudi Arabia, for example. As an Arab-specialist and a former station chief in Riyadh, Brennan has useful insights into crown prince Mohammed bin Salman and could guide policy makers on how to handle the young, enigmatic crown prince. That matters greatly for U.S. national interests..."

A better question is why should it be revoked? Other than a petty, immature president trying to wrestle away the autonomy enjoyed by intelligence agencies who also have the power to investigate him and his (potential) crimes?

I can use the obvious motivations for them without having to resort to some kind of spin, unlike a lot of Trumpistas. Was being a little tongue in cheek with it.

They're known for being intolerant of intolerance. Important nuance.
