Learning a new language by a certain age is not possible for some people. I knew a lady who was a physicist in Cuba who later became a US citz. Lived in Fl since the 60’s and died at 93. She understood but she could not vocalize. Maybe its the trauma - or other reasons. She did not drive either. People are not robots ! And not all people are the same, so stop comparing !
