So there's a new game coming out called DOOM: Eternal, basically you're a space marine on Mars battling demon creatures. In the latest showing of it there were three lines poking fun at SJW's which REALLY got them upset. The lines are:

“Earth is the melting pot of the universe,”

“let’s make our friends feel welcome in their new home,”

And my favorite:

“Remember, ‘demon’ can be an offensive term, refer to them as ‘mortally challenged.’”

The SJW's are losing it, I think they're funny as hell, but what do you think?
I'm a gamer. I'm sick to death of the SJWs sniveling about everything in games. Zoe Quinn can suck it as far as I'm concerned.

Gaming is an escape from reality - like people like to watch sports on tv, or people like to watch reality shows, or however people get their escape from reality, (meaning their reality), gaming is the same. I don't give a flying rat's furry behind what an SJW thinks of what characters say, what they look like, or how they are dressed. Shut the hell up and play the game. There's plenty to complain about in gaming: cheaters, DLCs, crap games, etc. No need to bring their real world problems into it as the point of gaming is to get away from all of that.

I am neither, but thanks for the indirect insult nonetheless. It's so precious when someone pipes up to rag on gamers. Move on and do your own thing. I don't bash on what you like to do for fun and relaxation.

The sort of person who would complain about this isn't likely the sort of person who would play a game like Doom in the first place. There's definitely a SJW sect in gaming but there are probably more who are anti-SJW and troll culture is huge so their doing this was over a sensible move... Gain social capital with your core group at the expense of notoriously thin-skinned people who will probably go through your game with a fine-toothed comb to find reasons to hate it and get outraged anyways.

SJW? The guy is complaining that they should keep politics out of the game. Is this not the same argument many are using about those kneeling at football games?

It isn't even an argument from a particular viewpoint, just an argument to keep politics out of the games.

Accordring to the SJW'S in the OP's initial linked article, the British colonials used to call anyone from Asia “Oriental.”

That's funny because a lot of chinese restuarants contain the name oriental, so the Chinese identify with it themselves and I don't recall anyone calling someone oriental.

Are these chinese restarants now all going to have to change their names, and whatr aboput the Manderin Oriental Hotels, the Orient Express or even Leyton Orient football club .

I would however described the SJW' as 'Mental Mental Chicken Oriental'.

Would you like it better if they did it at work?

Lots of people play video games. It's not much of an indication of anything, other than the fact that they like them, unless it's their sole pursuit in life.

Oh, wait...I forgot something. Some people do play at work. They are called developers, I believe, and they probably make a lot more money than either you or I do.

You might want to have more diversity in the people you choose to associate with. I can tell you from my own experiences that I am not miserable and not married but I do enjoy playing Fantasy sports. It's a great way to keep in regular contact with my friends. We get together for a Championship dinner to honor the winner of our Football season. I am a big hockey fan and have run a train on several very competitive leagues. The bragging rights are priceless when a Yankee from NYC beats up on a league loaded up with Canadians.

As far as Poker goes, I never played until 12 years ago when the Texas hold em' fever swept the nation. I do things in phases. I get really good at something and I stop doing it. I played in a couple of Tournaments at Trump Casino and Resorts from 2006-2008. I placed in the top 50 a couple of times which was fine by me because that was my goal. To get there took a lot of patience as these tournaments tend to drone on. That was back in my early 30's. Today I'm 44 and I hit Atlantic City or Mohegan Sun two or three times a year. I don't always play. I have to feel it. The past few years I been playing a lot of Roulette. Whenever I am on vacation I do play a lot of everything.

As far as video games go 90% of the games I played were EA sports games. I stopped playing them 6 years ago. I haven't turned on my PS3 in years. I bought a PS4 this past black Friday I never even took it out of the bag. I just lost interest in them. Part of me wishes I could get back into them because I really did enjoy myself. But alas, all things end. My Son has a switch. I play Mario kart with him and I get motion sick. So maybe it's for the best iof I don't play them on a regular basis anymore.
