I believe what Trump was trying to do with the parade was to instill some pride in America that has been lacking for many years now. Instead of making apologies for America and pointing out the problems he wanted to remind people of how great and special America is and he is attacked for it.

The guy with no pride in America is Trump. His need to take Russian Dollars since his bankruptcies in the 80's has corrupted his mind.

WE have large parades on Memorial Day in small towns across the country. He does not know this.

We show our pride in our ability to speak freely. Trump does not believe in free speech.

What a bunch of BS. He wanted attention and praise for himself.

The American Legion came out against it. They want the troops home and better care for the veterans.

How anyone can argue that a parade the vets don't want is a good use of funds is beyond me.

TDS is rampant among some liberals.

The only cure is stop watching CNN, MSLSD, etc.

You can't instill pride with a parade -- asking the residents of North Korea, Russia, etc....and other brutal regimes.

That's the problem - the focus is on parades to instill pride.

Conducting business with integrity, discipline, would be a start.

that's the refrain from Trump fans when they can't justify his inappropriate actions, policies, behavior.

The parade was a stupid idea.

It was -- it's okay -- you can say -- at least he came to his senses...and still be a Trump fan.

I can't think of a single American I know who would be prideful at seeing a parade of goose-stepping soldiers and military hardware on the streets of the capital. Fairly or not, that kind of stuff is far more associated with oppressive dictatorships than with a celebration of our freedoms.

Monkey see, monkey do

Trump has seem large military parades in countries like N Korea, Russia, China
He wants to be able to compete with those guys so he needs to stand in front of a big military parade
He is all about the visual

Trump didn't call this off
Someone with sense did
And we can rule Trump out for that reason...
