Should production come back to the US, jobs won't. You do understand that, don't you?

Just because they are "authorized" doesn't mean they are a requirement. If it is determined that they aren't a good idea (which they aren't), there's nothing in there saying we HAVE to have tariffs.

  • Ad hominemYou started it with insult. A valid argument doesn't require that tactic. Maybe you should try it again.

  • It's TRUE though.
  • Okay. Are you a Keynesian or an Austrian? What is your opinion of Walter Block, Robert P. Murphy, Ludwig von Mises, and Murray Rothbard?
  • I was simply recommending a book to you. It's obviously needed.

Can someone explain how taxing a Mercedes, BMW, Audi buyer benefits other americans? The way I see it, the euro car buyer that is forcibly made 25% poorer will now have that much less to spend on other goods and services in our economy while the guv is that much richer. Who spends money in a wiser fashion, those who earn it or those who steal it? Or is this just part of the cost of living in a "civilized society" () we hear so much about?

And yes, I think it is a dumb idea.

The one-way trade arrangements we have now are not exclusively right-wing or exclusively left-win.

The right likes them because they would like to keep US worker's wages as low as possible.

The left likes them because it tends to make otherwise independent, self-sufficient working Americans less independent and less self-sufficient.

Working Americans support trade with countries that buy our products.

It's only on a few cars. It's only bump stocks. It's only conservative voices private social media platforms are silencing.

Crybaby authoritarians....just like their liberal peers. Congrats cons.

Speaking for all working americans are you? Countries don't trade, businesses do and trade is best left to them. You dont support private businesses having the freedom to make their own trade deals? Sounds like you think govt owns the business a.k.a. socialism.
Chalk up another poster who thinks an economy is made healthier by higher prices, more taxes, fewer choices, fewer jobs...
