The ones on the bottom were always there, and taking care of them were not as big of a problem as it seemingly becomes today. The difference between yesterday and today though, is those above you, are seeking bigger and bigger profits, yet they are not ready to live in a downright third world country ( not yet at least))) And that's why they are shifting responsibility for keeping the bottom feeders afloat on the middle class. They themselves want to stay free of such responsibilities.
No one is growing indignant or envious. Its just a fact often middle class has no more disposable income after paying expenses than do those on welfare thus using depression as an excuse to drown in alcohol or drugs instead of paying for diapers is lame.

Here's an estimate (from 2011) that the savings for one year using cloth diapers would be 27% but that is based on having your own washer and dryer. Prices have gone up since then for cloth and disposable diapers but I would guess that the difference in cost as a percent would still be close to the same. https://blog.mint.com/consumer-iq/cl...arison-102011/

PS I don't think anyone said it was your problem, did they?
Cloth diapers can be made really cheap actually. And if you have a toilet (to empty waste) and a hose and bucket, you don’t need machines. The same goes for cloth menstrual pads. It’s really not as hard or expensive as people seem to think. People do it all the time and it’s much better for the environment.

Sorry for your self-inflicted delusions, but if they help you to feel self-righteous and sleep better - who am I to argue)))
Actually, it's delusional to ignore the fact that capitalism has helped more people escape poverty than any socialist plan has. Ever.

Then don't have them...simple. We all make choices in life, some just make some really bad ones and it is no one else's fault but their own.

Now I do understand in some cases, divorce causes these situations. For those, I do feel bad for and have no problem with providing welfare for the single mother (or father) until they can get back up on their feet.
