I saw engines in open wheel modifieds that probably cost more than your house.
Never mind what a spec Nascar race ready engine would cost.

Think it's for inbred hillbillies or only in one city in North Carolina... look at where other race team owners live, the money they bring and spend with them...

Toyota invests a TON of cash in NASCAR. Toyota Racing Development, they're based in California...

Many race team owners have their hands in multiple businesses outside of racing and race sponsors.
Hendrick-They have a chain of car dealers.
Earnhardts-They have a chain of car dealers.
Childress not only has other businesses he even has a charity for children.

There's money galore in Nascar. Engineers. Builders. Welders. Transport drivers. Team crews etc. There's more money in Nascar than any other professional sport...
Of course there’s money in NASCAR, it’s just that that money is not translating into escalating viewership and attendance (as pointed out in the links above). Something within NASCAR needs to change.

It's not just stock car racing.

The average salary for someone working in NASCAR in the CLT area is over $65,000/year.

You have yet to supply anything factual supporting your claim of NASCAR racing employing 75,000 in the Charlotte area and "growing by leaps and bounds"

Fake News!

None of which supports the claims some have made that NASCAR is growing by leaps and bounds.

And yes, I'm well aware of engine and development costs, if anything, things that may have sponsors losing their fascination with NASCAR if they feel they can get more bang for their sponsorship buck elsewhere.

I'd guess unlikely at best. Have any support for that statement other than opinion?

Yeah. The rules. I stopped watching with how ridiculous they made restarts and drafting.

I wouldn't want to race in NASCAR.
I'd be fined every 5 seconds and at every restart.
Wreck me intentionally and we'd be squaring up in the pits. They frown on that though.

Me... when I raced. Didn't matter if I was the lead car or in the middle of the pack on turn 3 or 4. That green flag waved my foot was buried in the firewall and you'd better be too or I'd push you. The way Nascar is, there's an imaginary line where you can hit the gas. Like really? I see a green flag waving I'm going foot to the floor. Not my fault someone else has a slow reaction time or isn't paying attention.

Unlikely?

Tell me how much it costs to develop an NFL team or MLB team.
Then tell me how much it costs to develop a NASCAR team. 2 drivers. Never mind 5. Or across 2 or 3 series.
The transport fees. The vehicles. The tools. The pit crew. The engineers. The facilities to build research and design. Drivers salaries. Yeah... There's more money in NASCAR than any other sport.

I've never liked plate racing and totally lost interest in NASCAR when they took points earned on the track away from Junior for something he said in the winner's circle. IMO that was the moment NASCAR publicly announced it was no longer a racing organization but an entertainment one. Curtis and Fireball among many others would be spinning in their graves over that BS.

Interesting how wildly vindictive America is becoming (or how panicked corporations are becoming).

Perhaps we should ban Jared Kushner from the White House, since his father is a felon.

WK won’t be refuting any of this with anything other than hot air.

But did his father say the N-word 30 years ago? That is the bar now, lol.
