My wife was watching Ford's testimony while I couldn't. I plan to watch a recording of her testimony soon...
I just asked my wife what she thought, and at least according to my wife, "the whole thing is sickening," and she has no doubt Ford is telling the truth. Kavanaugh needs to withdraw and we Americans be thankful there are women like Ford to see to it that men like Kavanaugh don't get away with what Kavanaugh did to her.
I told her about all the comments in this thread suggesting otherwise, and she can't begin to understand how anyone would judge Ford's testimony differently. Far as she is concerned, based on what she saw and heard, there is no question Ford is telling the truth, so...
Either Ford is a fine actress able to convince women like my wife she is telling the truth, or, soon to see for myself...
I don't think she was acting. She clearly believed what she was saying. However given how much time has passed and there is no corroborating testimony or evidence, it is not 100% clear that she is remembering correctly.
While I hate the grandstanding and fawning, I have an issue with it on both sides of the aisle. The Republican's did it during Kavanaugh's first hearing. Democrats did it here.
When Kavanaugh next appears, I'd put money on at least one (if not all) Republican apologizing for what he's had to endure followed by more grandstanding; this time on the Republican side. Yet somehow, most of those protesting the Dem grandstanding won't even notice, much less complain when the Republicans do it.
You have highlighted the divide in America here. There is no evidence, which you and I and other rational people can see. We demand evidence in a situation such as this.
On the other hand, Democrats do not require evidence and instead rely on emotional outrage.
Her sworn testimony is evidence. Kavanaugh's sworn testimony is evidence.
You were arrogantly wrong about that, lol-ing all over the place that anyone would stupidly think she would testify. Maybe have a little humility and stop, admit there is something here.

If you want to accept Ford's testimony, you have to simultaneously reject her friend Leland's testimony that she was never at any such party and never met Kavanaugh in her life. You also have to overlook that there is no clear statement of when or where this happened, and of course all of the blatantly obvious political chicanery by Diane Feinstein and the Democrats during this despicable episode.
You also need to overlook that these alleged events supposedly happened in High School, and that the accuser does not even claim to have been raped or even disrobed.
This is a partisan witch hunt and for there to be any justice, the people perpetrating this outrage on our democratic system must be held accountable, one way or another.
I think something happened to her, at some party at sometime. I suspect it was a different group of boys. The different group of "boys" were not important and it became clear she had to come forward to use this as a excuse.
Do you have any specific proof to support this assumption?
Let's see what, if anything is revealed in Kavanaugh's testimony, but if there is no bombshell, the vote will be delayed and/or the nomination will be pulled.
The Republicans are in a terrible situation here, right before the midterm elections, just as the Democrats wanted it. Face it, the Democrats played not just dirty, but filthy and they have probably succeeded.
