There is literally nothing to investigate. The documentation the Judiciary Committee already has establishes that, and will be used as evidence by the FBI. All of this has in fact already been reviewed by the FBI as part of the background check.

They just need to send someone over from the FBI to explain to Flake and Murkowski how the FBI does investigations, then review and explain everything they have with them, and figure out what sort of form letter or whatever needs to be issued to give Flake and Murkowski the political cover they are seeking.

This really should be able to be done very quickly.

And ALL criminal allegations, when brought to the surface, are investigated.
Stop spouting that same old BS. Seeing as I'll never be in the same position as Kavanaugh, I can put it into a context an everyday American might face - being accused of a crime and questioned by police. The police use that tactic to keep people from calling a lawyer. They say if you're really innocent, you don't need a lawyer. Pretty much anyone with half a brain knows that is complete and utter BS. You know what I would do if I was questioned by police and was innocent? I would get a damn lawyer and say nothing as would most even semi-intelligent thinking people who were wrongly accused of a crime.

When did it turn into a contest to see who could get more letters of support?

Will dems here offer up an apology to Kavanaugh if nothing is found during an FBI investigation? Didn't think so.

Damage is done to his family.

That legit took me all of a few minutes to figure out on Google - guess Senator Whitehouse's staff can't google as well as I can.
Well maybe you should call the FBI and have them go interview Tim Gaudette!

That is a preliminary vote to setup debate, not final confirmation.

So now letters of support that say "good luck", "we love you" and such is corroborating evidence now?

Defamation of character based on what? The events she described happened. Absolutely. Actually, keep in mind, this event occurred when Ford was 15 y/o - it would be very traumatic at that age. Of course, at age 15 she shouldn't have been at a party where liquor was served - but in their world this was apparently common.

Caller into Cuomo's show last night - Lynne Brooke - very articulate woman, classmate of Kavanaugh - didn't want to talk to CNN at all - but, after his tirade and rant yesterday, said she had to go on the record saying he was falling down drunk every Saturday at Yale parties, could very easily have had blackouts, everyone drank a lot, he and another guy intentionally followed another couple into a bedroom to catch the couple in the act and embarrass the woman. She remembers that to this day because she was so angry about it at the time.

She said she's been talking to other of 'Brett's classmates' - and they are very disappointed/disgusted with his attempts to portray himself as a choir boy.

He was not.

She said he should have admitted his drinking and the wild parties - THEY ALL DID IT.

His blanket denials are are troubling to the people who knew him then and may yet bring forth others. He better watch out.

Mitchell followed up by asking what motivated her to contact the Washington Post on July 6th, to which she replied that she was “panicking” and her beach friends urged her to call newspapers or her congresswoman.

There’s one major flaw in that argument – The Post itself reported that Ford had relayed those terrible memories “only in therapy and with her husband.”
https://thepoliticalinsider.com/chri...friends-claim/

She told the Washington Post she had only discussed what happened to her with her husband and her therapist. But then she contradicted that in her testimony on Thursday. She asked her "beach friends"... "beach people" what she should do about her allegations and they told her to contact newspapers. That contact with the Washington Post happened after she consulted with her "beach friends" ... "beach people," which are neither her husband nor her therapist.

Flake is not running. He is retiring from the Senate in December.
