If the GOP felt the need to go find 60+ women from his childhood to vouch for his decency, surely they knew there might be some skeletons in his closet that would say otherwise.
It's only a good point if you operate from the presumption that the charges are valid.
We don't see women crawling out of the woodwork making accusations against him.
There could be more. Often women get brave and speak up after the first one comes forward. This has been documented many many times and they even say that the first woman gave them confidence to come forward. Who knows if there are others or not in this case.

Absolutely. I don't want a person of that character on the federal bench much less SCOTUS. It's not so much that a person must be perfect and never had done something stupid as a juvenile but the denial and refusal to take responsibility for it. IF there is any substance.
On the other hand, the many questions that have been put forth on this forum about the details of her story will surely be asked of her under oath. I expect to hear credible answers and will not be distracted by her getting all choked up and sobbing. If she gets flustered and walks out, I'll conclude she is at best not credible. If she gets invited to terstify and no-shows, the same.
Very reasonable and I completely agree. I'm sure the committee will ask her some very tough questions, and I hope she can answer them honestly without getting all emotional and choked up.
It's been 36 years and I would never want to downplay somebody's trauma, I'm just saying that I want her story to be judged fairly and on facts....not emotions.
Let's flip this situation. Let's say a liberal judge was being nominated to SCOTUS, and a woman accused him of sexual assault 36 years ago.

This woman ford spent the weekend scrubbing or bleach bitting her social media pages. She was wearing a vagina hat at the resistance march. She is a two bit hack who is trying to muck up the nomination. There is no pattern and the lie goes back to when he and she were 17 YO. You have the other guy who said it never happened. She can not tell which year and where it happened. LOL She is lying through her teeth.
Her scrubbing and bleaching will not be effective. Too many servers, too many archives. You think FB ever completely deletes anything on you? Facebook and Twitter and the like might even get court orders to deliver the data.
Judiciary Committee should have live hearings with both parties questioned.
