It's not important because he's going to be confirmed regardless of anything that's found in any document. Hopes for a "smoking gun" that will derail the nomination are naive at this point. Protests for other reasons are just agitprop.

There is quite more than smoke, he lied to the senate back in 2006 for his appointment to the DC Circuit Court. Yes the senate will most likely approve but he does gave a number of skeletons in his resume, there may come a point that even republicans can not tolerate due to their electorate.

He didn't lie about anything, just give up.

The Dems reach into the toilet bowl and pull out John Dean of Watergate fame as one of their witness for the confirmation hearing.
The Dems has lost all hope of decency. Bringing in a discredited lawyer who couldn't qualify to shuffle the paperwork on a Kavanaugh opinion.

Correction...America is not losing hope ...for the return of decency and the rule of law.
Currently , the criminal rule of law rules the day.
A mere 15 minutes of fame in the grand scheme of things.

Besides, who s afraid of John Dean?

He indicated he didn't participate in discussions regarding torture, that is not true and it will come up this week.

I don't know where you read that but he worked for Bush and Starr for years, they just dumped 42,000 pages yesterday and the hearing is this morning.

I think that all the objections/frustrations will be for nothing -- he will not be removed as a nominee.

But it is curious that The White House is denying access to information that is relevant in these hearings.

The dangerous precedent may come back to haunt Republicans.

While there is no legal obligation, there is a moral obligation to be transparent.

All of this sets precedent for the future. All of it. Republicans will hate it when it's all done to them.

Default The nomination/confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the SCOTUS will be a great example of what's wrong with Washington DC

Today marks the beginning of the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court, this will be President Trump's second SCOTUS appointment. Brett Kavanaugh has dedicated his life to this country and our legal system, under any other circumstances he would be seen as a legal expert of impeccable moral and legal standing but in today's Washington DC we'll hear Democrats asking questions about his family, things he said 25 years ago and without a doubt we'll hear them somehow claim that he's a racist. He'll be confirmed, he'll make a wonderful judge just as he's done for years already and this country will be better because he's on the SCOTUS.

Today is a perfect example of what's wrong with politics in this country.

Congratulations Judge Kavanaugh.
