Hungry Tiger baited but avoids trap. No matter who is in the office, you may like, dislike personality or the politics, but.....

Do you agree with Tiger's statement and the idea of how the office should be respected ?

Seems like a message to unite people who's support for America is a starting point that shouldn't be violated despite any problems that may exist.

"He's the President of the United States. You have to respect the office. No matter who is in the office, you may like, dislike personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office." ----Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods says 'you have to respect the office' of president after questions about his relationship with Trump | Fox News

I don't think "respecting the office of the president" is the same as "blanket support for anything the president wants." It would also help if the President respected his own office. He comes across as a bit of a clown and shows little to no respect for the 43 men who came before him. How often does he claim that he is the greatest President ever?

No - respect is earned on the merits of an individual 100% of the time. There is no respect due to any title or position, it is a foolish abdication of our responsibility to make our own judgements to thoughtlessly award respect just because someone has some title.

I can understand the appeal for low intellect authoritarians to not have to do any of the difficult mental lifting though. Can skip straight to kissing the ring that way.

I do not know what the statement is supposed to mean other than some vague idea. I do NOT blame Tiger for going this route but there really is nothing to agree or disagree with.

Think about this interview for a moment -- since when do Sports 'journos' ask "provocative questions" about Politics right after the game is completed????

Only in the Age of #Resistance. It's an infection - this Hysterical Meltdown that won't quit.

THIS type of thing is why the Leftist Media has no credibility and has lost the TRUST of the Normal People.

The comment was in response to a provocative reporter’s question that tried to get Woods to denounce Trump’s policies and feuds with NBA and NFL players, USA Today reported.

Woods was asked whether he had anything to say to people who “find it interesting” that he maintains a rather personal relationship with the president who tightening immigration controls in the country and feuding with both NBA and NFL players.

“At times, especially 2018, I think a lot of people, especially immigrants are threatened by him and his policy — what do you say to people who might find it interesting that you have a friendly relationship with him?” a reporter asked Woods.

Tiger had the perfect response to finish off the dumb questions ..... I'm hungry & gotta go eat.

Blanket support for the office isn't the same as blanket support for a person.

Two separate blankets in play.

We seem to agree on that.

At what point is respecting the office of the President violated. That seems unclear.

Was Sean Hannity and City-Data Trump supporters talking about "respect the office" when Obama was president? LOL

And most Americans citizens do respect the Oval Office. It's Donald Trump who doesn't respect it.

Our last president was a decent, well spoken fella and good family man. Pubs smeared him with every conceivable insult for 8 years. Despite that, he maintained his dignity and didn't besmirch the office by getting down in the mud with them.

The current prez is a criminal lowlife who holds himself above the law and is using the office for his personal gain above the national interest. It's up to HIM to respect the office, which he clearly has no intention of doing.

The office of the presidency will return to normal when that swine is removed.

It's tRump vs America.

America will win.

I'm not going to go look for a link but seem to remember it being brought up. Now the same people who were for it are against it. No surprise, its very fashionable to flip-flop on a number of issues.

What are those who don't respect the office doing to disrespect it ?

Does the media respect the office or are they disrespecting it ?

What I'm trying to get at is at = what point has someone gone to far and disrespected the office.

Any examples that someone can point to and say this has crossed the line.
