Enough with the fake praise that he is a hero and a true patriot..2 things most liberals care nothing about. Is it ONLY because he didnt like Trump? Is that the only reason you seem to care all the sudden? Its one thing to heap criticism on the dead, but its quite another to heap obsequious flattery just to hurt someone else.

So...?

Maybe it is because he was a gentleman in what is now a bloodsport. Maybe it was because he recently he recognized that the way the Senate was operating is not how it should be operating in a properly functioning government. And he wanted a return to following proper protocols instead of the nonsense that he saw going on.

Remember 2008 when he was the second coming of Hitler? Now he's suddenly a great man. TDS is an amazing thing.

OK you agree he is a hero and a true patriot that "liberals care nothing about". And we know President does not really praise him. Are you trying to say President Trump is a liberal?

what is the real reason you suddenly praise McCain?

I am fairly liberal on some things by today's standards, and fairly conservative on others.

This is what I think here ...

I am more interested in why so many Republicans suddenly dislike him after all these years, his conservative credentials are solid, but I think I know the answer.

I googled his name and Nazi and tried to find volumes of posts/discussions asserting this. I did find where some would say McCain is a Republican and the Republicans support White supremacists or are like Nazis or Hitler. But I didn't find much real discussion on McCain specifically himself.

Yup he liked war -- and I struggled with that.

Don't have to support his policy to know that he hsd the greater good for this country as his goal, as his motivator.

I struggled with his choice of Palin and lost some respect with that. Why do these politicians sell their souls to their party committees. Palin was a bad choice for him and may not have been his only undoing but it was a big one.

I admire his dedication to his country. I admire his courage to fight for his country.
I admire his fight to the end for what HE believed in .

I say nice things about dead people or I say nothing. Oh, and I seriously considered voting for him until Palin.

No kidding. Oh... that he thumbed his nose at Trump raised him in my esteem.

Also? Am a supporter of veterans. Especially POWs.

Any other questions?

Trump is such a douche that he makes McCain look like a smart, sensible, moderate patriot in comparison.

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool liberal, but considered voting for McCain in 2008 until he picked Sarah Palin as a running mate. I appreciated his experience and intelligence, but when he caved to the Tea Party I changed my mind.

He made mistakes, but he also showed himself to be a stand-up guy in many instances, like when he told that woman at the rally that Obama was a good man.
