Here's How the U.S.-Mexico Trade Deal Would Differ From Nafta

Trump’s New Nafta May Leave His Job and Deficit Pledges Unfulfilled

Trump’s Nafta Deal Isn’t Worth the Price

Trump’s Mexico Trade Deal Looks Like a Lemon

All these Trump promises and in the end, very little change if any. You can be sure Trump himself will be full of praise, especially about himself.

Its like being a building and giving it a new name as if that somehow made it a better building.

Anyone actually expect anything else? Just following with the common theme. All show, no substance.

Bloomberg has not actually read the agreement, and it's a certainty that Clinton's old Trade Representative has not read it. I'm going to take a wild-off-the-wall GUESS that Lighthiker KNOWS exactly what is in the new Mexico/USA Trade Agreement ...... and go with his assessment.

Canada is in a panic when you read their news. The head Union guy in Canada likes it and will be in Washington today to try and explain it to Freeland. Somebody with a brain needs to convince her to give up her "Canadian Virtues" stipulations that have no place in NAFTA and to understand what happens next IF they want to count on a Big Blue Wave to "save" them.

I love how Trump was actually honest for once. He said that they are going to change the name from NAFTA because it has a bad connotation. However, it will allow him to say "see? I got rid of NAFTA!" and all the Trumpeteers will chalk it up as another win, MAGA, and a campaign promise fulfilled.

But in reality, part of what this deal says is that in order for a car to duty-free that it must be sourced 75% in North America as opposed to 62%. That's a good thing. However, the devil is in the details. Right now, there is a definitive parts list that must meet 62%. They are doing away with that. What if right now the engine is on the parts list and it means that it makes the most sense for the most crucial part of the car, the engine, to be made in North America and presumably to higher North American standards.

Yet, if the parts list is removed, they could source the most expensive and key component of the car to the lowest bidder from China instead. And who knows, maybe play some numbers games where the engine is considered 1 component yet all the rivets to bolt the car together are counted individually. At least the crappy engine will remain attached to the frame very well until it fails.

Okay so nobody has read the agreement.

Just the points highlighted by this administration right -- the things they think are the most important.

So can we conclude that Bloomberg has to judge the deal based on what this administration has suggested are the 'highlights' of the deal -- and based on those 'highlights' has come to the conclusion that the deal is not a big deal.

Hmmmmm i'll give you the old Trade Rep comment.

And you don't believe that Lightihker is biased at all in his interpretation and analysis of the agreement.

Canada's in a panic...I guess you know someone in Canada?
Yes Freeland was pleased with the details that this administration has released. Canada supported bi-lateral talks between Mexico and Canada. Freeland is particularly happy with the labour factors addressed with the agreement.

Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland said that Mexico's "difficult" concessions to the United States on Monday would pave the way for productive talks this week as all three countries race toward a Friday deadline for a deal to modernize the 24-year-old North American Free Trade Agreement.

"These concessions are really going to be important for workers in Canada and the United States," she told reporters after meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.

What are Canadian virtues?

Do you care to share your source for all your feelings and emotions about this trade stuff?

Yes that's how Trump sees it -- and some of his followers and how the sites they follow sell it but this is what actually happens.

Trump allows companies to dump toxic materials into water - causing communities to be hit with cancer epidemics.
Trump vows to fix the problem .
Trump's Tweet -- I just cured cancer

MSM headlines -- Trump claims to cure cancer but fails to tell us how.

then....Trump claims to cancer seem to be premature.

them....Trump claims to cure cancer false as there is no cure -- just a cure for the nausea caused by chemo -- weed. Trump claims a victory for discovering that weed can cure eating challenges also.
