McCain is deceased--he doesn't care how Trump supporters feel about it.

Most of those who respect McCain totally understand why Trump was requested to not attend by McCain himself, and totally respect McCain for doing so.

Trump did nothing but deliberately insult McCain, and offended McCain with his cozy Putin bromance.

Trump, a man who ran from military service is the polar opposite of McCain who totally revered military service. Many decent and honorable people would not want Trump at their funeral--his toxic need for attention would ruin any event.
McCain is sneaking around with the DOJ/FBI passing off a FAKE dossier to help scuttle Trump's presidency & then saves Obama care out of spite after running against it. Trump had every right to despise this guy. He was a real ethical actor, McCain/s

What accomplishments? Being a mayor of an obscure town in Alaska? Quitting the office of governor midstream? Her accomplishment of raising a family full of screwed up kids? Attending four different colleges in six years to eke out a degree?

She's a mercenary, classless quitter. McCain didn't "earn" anything? After you have been a tortured POW--come back and whine about McCain.

Can you please cite your sources for that fairy tale?

Rather off subject, but I wish that John S. McCain III's body was being transported to the Capital via train. If so, and if it went by Fort Worth or some place close by, I would not have minded standing by the side of the track to pay my respects.

I had always admired those (even today) that do so, to pay homage for those that have died. One of the more famous examples was the funeral train of Lincoln, as well as FDR and JFK.

As for Ms. Palin: I have little doubt that she understands not being invited. It is, I feel and hope, not meant as a 'snub'. He had a long life, and their relationship was brief.

Some herein have wondered at 'liberals' or Democrats wishing to pay homage to Senator McCain. I feel sorry for these people.

I join the ranks of those that did not agree with Senator McCain on some issues. However, our having an honest disagreement about issues does not mean one does not respect the other side.

History is replete with examples of foes attending funerals of their political 'enemy'. Such people honor those that fairly 'fought the fight'. Disagreeing on issues does not mean you hate the person, as a person.

Many Republicans spoke highly of Ted Kennedy after his passing (from the same type of brain cancer, and, oddly, on the same calendar day/month).

These people recognized that Senator Kennedy had his own political beliefs, which they respected, much as they respected his efforts in the Senate. Disagree? Sure. But not to the point of dancing on his grave.

Life, it is said, is short. Many people are looking back at the totality of Mr. McCain's life, and are reaching the conclusion "It was a Just life". As such, they honor him in his passing.

I have always respected Mr. McCain, although it was shaken some during the Keating Five affair.

Yet, I always recall his POW years, and of the horrible torture and pain he underwent. Of how he, years later, led the way in our establishing relations with Vietnam. Indeed, I read that the commandant of the Hanoi Hilton expressed sorrow over Mr. McCain's death.

I like that. Mr. McCain refused to let bitterness rule his life. Many that served in Vietnam took, unfortunately, different routes, spending their lives in bitterness and drug abuse. I have talked with such Vets that speak of 'seeing my friend killed' in Vietnam, as an explanation for their subsequent behavior.

Mr. McCain, although tortured to the point where he lost the full use of his arms, refused to take such a path. He did not engage in self-pity. He could have.

That, for one, is why many Americans 'pay their respects' to John S. McCain III. He suffered, but did not allow his suffering to define his life.

You don't think John earned his wings? I think the many years he spent the Hanoi Hilton earned them. Several times over.

Never forget the North Vietnamese wanted to release him early, because he was an Admiral's son. But John refused the release until all the other pilot-prisoners were freed.

I don't deny Palin earned here accomplishments, but you have no right at all to say McCain didn't earn his. He earned everything he got, and earned them in the hardest way possible.

Classy work, kevin. Do you often spit on a dead man's coffin like this?

I wouldn't blame Sarah Palin too hard.

The only reason why John McCain picked Sarah Palin for his running mate was to sabotage the Republican Presidential candidacy.

What the hell did Sarah Palin ever do wrong except get swarmed by Lamestream Blamestream Fakestream Mainstream media?
