Unlike the hapless Obama, Trump demonstrates he knows how to get Europe to drop it's long standing tariffs against American products including cars. Now the EU wants to bargain with the Trump administration on trade.

This is getting results. This is a President doing what he said he would do.

EU Willing To Scrap Car Tariffs In US Trade Deal: Politico

I predict more head explosions.

Obama kicked off negotiation of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). Under TTIP, 97% of tariffs would be eliminated. Trump put a kbosh on TTIP and started a trade war instead.

Now we're getting back to the principles originally embraced by Obama under TTIP, and Trump will try to spin this like some big victory for him?

Providing the US drops tariffs inclusing the 25% tariff on pick up trucks and light trucks that has been in place since 1963.

Zerohedge....

The tariffs between US-EU have been around 3% on both sides, so all the talk about Europe ripping US off was only to get people like the OP wound up with fake news.

The positive side is that Trump is trying to claw his way back to square one in some areas.

“We are willing to bring down even our car tariffs down to zero … if the U.S. does the same,” - Malmström

You should read articles before you try to paraphrase them based on the title.

They are taking the lead (what the USA used to do before Trump), and saying "we're willing to scrap our tariffs, IF USA WILL. Before Trump, USA used to set the terms of negotiation, now we are no longer in the lead, due to Trump. His strategy has consistently been to make bad decisions, cause a lot of pain among the American people, and then take credit for "fixing" the pain he caused. He ignores the fact that we were better off before he broke and fixed it.

North Korea was willing to end their nuclear program also. They haven't.

Trump is still winning. His tariffs are working. Europe bends knee, and China is quietly buying soybeans again. MSM is melting down.

Europe is not bending, they simple stated that they would end their tariffs if we did too. And as far as the soybeans, I guess farmers don't need that $12 billion then, right?
