In 1982 I paid $250 a month rent for a 3 bedroom 2 bath 1800 sq.ft with a 4 car detached garage / shop, in Austin TX.
Today that same place rents for $2800.

the farmers are earning money, growing crops that we depend on: renters do not do the same: that is a huge difference, plus when it comes to farmers it covers all states and regions, not just one state. You are comparing apples and lemons.

That is one of the most far out logic I have seen here in years: Try and pay for your food with food that is all produced over seas or in Mexico. See how that works or maybe you would be just fine living on food stamps when that becomes the only way you can even put food on the table?

I had to do a double take on this one. You think relying on foreign countries for our food is a good idea?

Neither are farmers - they are getting paid to overproduce, in a situation when obesity is a bigger issue than starvation.

Here's a thought. Control who comes across our borders and you'll see less pressure on rent.
