Completely different.
A good punch line is often remembered better than the utterance that inspired it.

The thing is; that sounded just like something Sarah Palin would say. So much so that you'll never convince some people she never said it.

Palin added legitimacy and implicit approval to the punch line by appearing on Saturday Night Live. Twice.

No, it sounds like something the leftists think Palin would say. That is if leftists can think at all. Sometimes I have my doubts about that. When they have to make up something Palin did not say in the first place.

Hateful family. I wonder if that was McCain's instructions or just his hateful family.

Oh, come on. Maybe a few clueless people took it seriously, but most people knew that the "I can see Alaska from my house" was a joke from Saturday Night Live. It was a very funny joke, too, and that's why it gained so much traction in popular culture.

I noticed that jerk, John Kerry, was not at the memorial today. Was he at any of the other ones?

Yeah, Palin's family is pretty hateful, glad they weren't at the funeral.
