A quick and obvious solution to this is to allow the highest supported third party, despite quotas and percents, to run with and debate televised the other two "big ones" AND automatically be on the ballot in all 50 states. That would be the first step. Afterwards maybe extend it to the top five.
This right here are great logical steps. The debates are great public exposure to candidates ideas more so than media snippets etcetera. If the debate was hosted by a government agency instead of a random media organization that would be nice.

Similar to other Western countries. This is much better and will also stop the fight basically between republicans and democrats, and basically more choices for the people.
Agree - I've been saying the same thing since 1992 and Ross Perot - the two party system is a JOKE

Lol, more government to fix the problem of too much government and government politics?

Its a joint venture between the two parties that runs the debates now, actually let the networks run them and decide who goes, that will remove the two party bias.

Not sure about multiple parties, but we definitely need a third party somewhere between the polar extremes of hyper-Liberal Democrats and hyper-Conservative Republicans.

I think it would make more sense to just abolish the electoral college and the "the winner takes it all" system. That way, the already existing smaller parties can have more of chance to be actually represented.

Yep. That was my idea about the debates more or less, but the Ds and Rs will never go for that.
