Looks like the gravy train might be coming to an end .
Isnt the left always praising countries like Australia ? So they should be on board with this plan right ?
Trump wasn’t kidding when he said America ( and Americans ) first .

Illegal and legal immigrants are unenrolling from receiving welfare benefits following reports that President Trump’s administration will soon bar foreign nationals from permanently resettling in the United States if they are documented as being a burden on American taxpayers.
As part of the plan, legal immigrants living in the country would be less likely to be able to obtain permanent residency in the country if they have used any forms of welfare in the past, including using Obamacare, food stamps, and public housing.
Countries like Australia have similar rules to prevent mass immigration from poor countries that further burden their poor and working-class citizens.
This seems like basic common sense to me. If you're a burden to the nation why do we get the privilege of paying for you. We need to bring in people that provide some kind of value other than simply janitors and the like. We need all types overall.

My experience -- those here illegally don't want anything to do with any handouts. Even food drives, clothing drives, toy drives at schools, they refuse to 'register' because they want no official recording.
They use cash for no tracking. They often don't even like to 'sign up' for a parish.

Yeah it makes no sense . We need to bring in people that can support themselves we have enough poverty here so why import more ?
There seem to be a lot of people that view America as the world’s charity but many billions are in poverty we can’t bring them all in but that is what the open borders types think .
“Anybody should be able to come here “ this is insane and no other country is like this . They all have immigration laws and rules . Many a lot more strict than ours .
Looks like the gravy train might be coming to an end .

I'm not sure this makes sense. A legal resident is a green card holder. They can't get welfare for five years. That's the law.
They couldn't have gotten into the country in the first place if they were dirt poor. It's part of our current immigration process anyway. If, after five years, something happens like health issues, for instance, and they can't work, they would then be eligible for welfare, but within the five years their sponsor is responsible for them.
So who does this Trump law apply to? Illegals who shouldn't be here anyway? I think most people agree about illegals so this is really a non issue, isn't it?
I'm part of the left and I don't have an issue with this. Don't think that it was near the problem some say it was. We've always been about making the agencies stronger to combat fraud, from citizens as well as aliens. Only problem is we want to leave the actual deserving recipients with a little dignity and that doesn't fly with some on the right. If welfare isn't degrading they can't abide by it.
