Pence wrote in an Op-Ed in 2009 for The Hill about Jack Kemp where he referred to the recently deceased politician as a "lodestar." Link: (link: Remembering Jack Kemp (Rep. Mike Pence) | TheHill) thehill.com/blogs/congress
Lodestar is not a very common term.
Very interesting! I suspected someone who is familiar with the writing styles and writing tics of the people in Trump's White House would be able to figure out who wrote that Op-Ed. This is a good clue as 'lodestar' is not in most people everyday vocabulary.
If they are anonymous we don't know if they are a Trump insider.
What we do know is the press was going to go after Trump for making them look so bad. Actually all he did was point it out. They made themselves look bad by their bias nature and poor performance standards.

If "lodestar" is the big clue, and given that Pence has used the word routinely in speeches, I would propose the key suspect is Pence's *speechwriter.*
I just read that, it's kind of an odd word for anyone to use.

The op-ed claims there's a secret resistance against President Donald Trump in the White House. It set off a firestorm online after it was published Wednesday, and now people are trying to identify the author.
Some have latched on to the word "lodestar" as a possible clue.
The word has been used by Vice President Mike Pence in past speeches, and the fact it's not typically heard in casual conversation has prompted speculation that he may have been the person who wrote the op-ed. https://www.businessinsider.com/lode...o-wrote-2018-9
