A Medical School Tradition Comes Under Fire For Racism (death, independent, Hispanic)

Black and Hispanic medical students don't make the honor society as often as other medical students. That's racist, dontcha know. So a leading med school in NYC will stop nominating students for honors entirely. This a national problem, we are told by NPR, which cites an expert who claims it isn't fair to judge med students of color by the same standard:

"[Minority] students have more stressors they have to deal with, low levels of racism that exist in our patients and our clinical environments."
Not to worry though, it isn't like training good doctors is a matter of life and death, right?

I assume the extra work liberals are eluding to is when we have to teach white people how to sing, dance, and play sports.
Apparently that's our forte. Not medicine, education, technology, or business.
At least one of those would be a complete waste of time.
Since liberals think black students can't do college math and science courses, isn't it a little inconsistent for libs to think black students can get through med school - with all that extra work on top of it?
I agree with a some of the Democrats' positions on various issues, but it is this PC insanity and the mission to make people not accountable for their actions is why I can't vote for them.
At least one of those would be a complete waste of time.

We've reached the point where we should divide up into two groups:
A. Those who want a pure 100% meritocracy
B. Those who want to socially engineer every last detail of life
Group B is more than welcome to use their socially engineered doctors, mechanics, plumbers, etc.
In a week they'll be walking, not driving, on a gangrene leg down the street to use a toilet at a buddy's house because their doctor, mechanic, and plumber didn't know their behind from a hole in the ground.
At least one of those would be a complete waste of time.

I have no problem with universities putting a number of seats on the side to fill with minorities - as long as those minorities are held to the same standards as other students. If the school has years there aren't enough minorities to fill the seats they've put aside, they can fill them with non-minority students.
White females should not be viewed as a minority unless it's a school underrepresented by females.
You're right - I do know they're hypocrites. But don't tell them I said that because so many are violent...lol.

It's why I've moved from being more on the left to being more moderate. You folks in the middle have either become independent or moved further right. Nothing the loons on the far left do makes any sense. I used to think people were making a bad joke in saying it's a mental illness, but more and more I understand that sentiment.
