What good are sanctions if there are other ways around them? China and Russia are now building a new high speed railway between Moscow and Kazan. There is also an agreement to lease new Russian super jet aircraft to Asia. Russia also has an invitation from India to reconstruct their railways and has signed a free trade agreement with India and the Eurasian Economic Union. Russia is also building a new pipeline across the Baltics to Germany. What better way to evade sanctions then with higher gas prices? Notice how much higher they are here?
What about sanctions? "We saw the top Western corporations not willing to let the East get all the deals, finding ways around sanctions, making money on them. Sanctions and depreciated currency did hurt the Russian banking sector but produced a boom in exports, agriculture, food industry, and other kind of import substitution, and it's there where the business is coming turning Russia into an investment miracle." Source: Russia finds way around sanctions by US and EU True this is an interesting opinion piece by the Malaysian Review. NBC News is reporting that "Sanctions for Russian Oligarchs unlikely to seriously impact Putin." Look closer at Trump pulling out of the TPP. Who does it benefit? "These mega trade deals being negotiated that the US will now not be part of, including the EU-Japanese Free Trade Agreement and the 16 nation trade agreement between between East Asian countries. These agreements will provide preferences to the participating countries and the U.S. will not receive them.
Trump's blustery red meat rhetoric about how no one has been tougher on Russia is just another lie in a long, long, long exhausting line of lies. Blindly believing anything this destruct-or and chief says is a disaster in the making. Research!
