Obama wants credit for the work President Trump is doing. This is what we call being a sissy. Now with the wonderful world of pc and social justice we cannot call this what it is. Obama is a sissy! A crybaby! Didn't he himself say elections have consequenses? Time for Obama to man up, pull up his man pants and take it. Maybe being a man for him would mean admitting his policies failed and people voted out his scurge on America! Then he could sit with us as Americans and help make our country great again. Sore loser.

Obama was handed a pile of steaming dog **** economy by his Repub predecessor while Trump was handed a growing economy. Trump took credit for what was Obama's...not the other way around. And the nation will pay for the tax cuts for the rich and the regulation rollbacks that are just more smoke and mirrors.

Trump shouldn't take credit for the economy because he got a running start from Obama: Top Democrat

I can find articles too that state the exact opposite. Everyone with an eye to see and an ear to ear know what truth looks like and can separate it from propaganda from cnbc or other liberal junk sources.

People really need to learn the difference between a news story that claims to be "fact" versus one that says it's opinion and when that difference is misrepresented. At least the article in USA Today is upfront in holding itself out as opinion piece, so people know that this is an opinion that they're reading, unlike some sources which hold themselves out as "fact" (and this happens with both conservative and liberal biased sources using thinly veiled propaganda that advances the personal agenda of the owners of the source). Even though it is an opinion piece and some people may not like Sanders' philosophies, it does cite valid information from sources such as non-partisan Pew Research that show that the economy isn't necessarily providing a bountiful harvest for everybody who has a role in it.
It's pretty easy for someone to just look around them and see that some people who used to be able to sustain a middle class lifestyle are struggling and have been doing so for decades (whether a Democrat or Republican is in office) unless they happen to live in some bubble location full of trust fund babies where no one has to struggle. There are groups whose prosperity have really stagnated in the last 20 years or so. Like his ideas or not, Sanders' editorial paints an accurate depiction of that just as Trump accurately points out NAFTA screwed over lots of blue collar people.
And as far as taking credit for something that's going well, or at least spun as going well, it's naive to think that a politician (Republican, Democrat, Independent) isn't going to do that, regardless of who is in office. While it would be better if that didn't happen, the reality is that pretty much goes with the territory.
Most non politically biased people understand how little impact the POTUS has on such things. But hey, if you can tell people that you will create jobs out of thin air, make stock prices go up, make gas prices go down, and raise your salaries, then unfortunately we will have to keep suffering through liars like Trump and Obama as "leaders" of our country. Keep hanging onto those hopes, dreams, and lies they tell you. They count on you being dumb, scared, and feeling helpless to do good things for yourself so keep it up dummies!
Even in the non-political arenas, history has many men and women taking credit for the work of other people. Heck, this might apply to Thomas Edison. That is, while patented many devices, whether or not Thomas Edison actually came up with the actual idea is another story.

Yes, Obama was "handed" a poor economy. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Dems control both houses at that time? Yes, Trump was "handed" a growing economy. Weren't the Republicans in control of both houses at that time? See anything in common there?
Tax cuts were not just for the rich.....I can tell you my employees are pretty damn happy about them!
Obama spent 8-years blaming Bush for every single problem ... while taking full credit for everything that went right. Now, he wants to take credit for everything Trump is doing, yet, no responsibility for anything under his own administration.
I cannot remember ever hearing an ex-president blatantly denigrating the accomplishments of the next President and administration -- or taking personal credit for accomplishments under that President and administration.
Obama's actions simply show a crass lack of class and character. But, isn't that largely the nature of the unhinged left over the past two years. They have no real respect for the office of the President, the rule of law or even America ... when those things conflict with their own personal promotion and gain.
