And the one common trait shared by the most obnoxious of both the traditionalists and absolutists among the conservatives and the most flagrant Social Justice Warriors is a desire for access to the legal monopoly on the use of force reserved to the nation-state -- a desire to fore their particular point of view on all of us.

A pox on all their houses! Live, let live, and MYOB!

Default Aren't you getting tired of politics?

Wearing your opponent down is a tried and true strategy no matter what kind of fight you're in.

The time when everyone gets sick of the DC Circus and stops paying attention is the time you should be watching them the most.

However, on a personal level, I'm tired of the day to day political process. I'm tired of the news. I'm following news less. I'm more likely to skim headlines than read long-form articles. I'm tired of the consistent bickering, gridlock, so on and so forth. I actually canceled my NYT subscription. I've kept my Economist subscription, but it's far more analytical, balanced, and less partisan than my other sources.

As I get older, the constant political tug-of-war seems to have less and less appeal. While I have my personal political views, I'm less and less likely to get involved in the advocacy of those beliefs. I've previously focused a lot of my personal energy, effort, and such on national politics. As I age, I realize my influence on the national scale is nothing, on the state level - it's still small, but on the local level - I may be able to do enough to get noticed. Local politics, no matter where I am, will be my focus from here on out. It feels pointless to swim with or against national political tides - you'll just tire yourself out swimming against it, or be one in a choir swimming with it.

Our society has numerous problems. With more age and experience, I'm convinced that the solutions are not political.

How tired of you of national politics?
Getting tired of democrats hate and fear mongering version of politics.

I’m tired of politicians who rose to succeess without government handouts, telling me I need government handouts to do what they did

I’m tired of progressives worshipping Canada but refraining from actually moving there

I’m tired of liberals praising homogeneous white societies with no diversity like Norway and Denmark as examples of what America should be.

I’m tired of liberals whining about wealth going to those who create it.
Wham! It's a grand slam!

I'm tired of watching threads that shove the disgusting failed politics of Barack Hussein Obama back down his throat... getting locked down.

I am a conservative but I actually agree with most of these points (for both sides) except the "I'm tired of conservatives promoting trickle-down policy as the solution to poverty when it's been proven time and time again to only increase the gap between rich and poor". This is because I don't have a solid understanding of that policy yet.

lol. I just snorted cola up my nose from laughing so hard. "traditional"?? anyone want to take a stab at what conservatives mean when they say "traditional".

yes we've seen the result of their "tough on crime" policy and equal justice.

So at 32 you're tired of politics? Just the opposite for me. As I get older the more interested/informed I am about politics. This is because you really begin to gain perspective as you get older. You begin to realize that the decisions that are being made at the ballot box are going to affect not only you - but your children and your children's children children.

As you get older you begin to fit all the pieces of the puzzle together; like how we survived the Civil War and WWI and how that led to WWII and how we became stuck in Vietnam; how we survived the Kennedy assassination and the Nixon disaster, and how we finally arrived at Trump. These are not dusty semi-fictional events written down in some history book, these all involved your relatives and ancestors in direct and measurable ways. And these were all the end result of the political decisions that went before them.

There will be future events that will involve you and your family in ways that you never imagined. You are directly responsible for determining what that future might look like, be it a golden era of prosperity or a devastated smoking hellish rubble. You can dodge that responsibility if you want, but remember that you may very well pay a stiff price for that apathy.

Me too. And as tired as I am of politics, I have to keep resisting. We can't afford to bury our heads in the sand.

Of course I'm tired of politics, like a lot of people.

Yet there are those who want to rip us a new one whenever we say that we expect a break from it when we're not in the political arena.

IOW, shut up and sing, play football, act, etc. I don't expect to hear about politics when I paid for a concert or sports ticket, or when tuning in to a scripted TV show.

Enough, already.
