Homeless people in general have other sources of help other than the government programs such as grass root efforts and organization like churches and community groups. They must be willing to look or ask for the help just like they should be willing to work if they physically can.

Banks were bailed out mostly due to liberal agendas set in motion in the 90's to allow lower income individuals the ability to afford things they truly could not. The government (to the joy of many) wanted everyone to own a home and everyone would qualify, until many of those loans that should not have been approved started to default. The GOVERMENT had to fix it's own self inflicted wounds to maintain the economy. At this point in history, our government had the resources to do so, in the future we may not be so lucky.

We had to suffer thru 8 years of having a closeted Muslim in the White House. Thank God that President Trump is turning America around.

No doubt you pretty strongly feel that Trump's ways of dividing America is much better for most everybody. Right?

And six years ago on this date was Benghazi. Guess what? That mess has still not been resolved yet.
The American people are not really that patriotic anymore either, plus many people confuse patriotism with obedience/ compliance, so they are not really aware what patriotism entails.

Being 'patriotic' is rarely the popular thing, its tough, inconvenient and will have a negative impact on someones quality of life!!

Considering the tyrannical govt currently in power, real patriotism today, would look more like domestic terrorism on the surface.

Winner? What a laugh.

OBL had a goal of striking a huge blow, that had lasting impact on the USA.......I think he accomplished this.

But you know as well as I, patriotism is a word; and one that generally comes to mean either my country, right or wrong, which is infamous, or my country is always right, which is imbecile.

Lies, which led us to war and occupation of Iraq. Mis-management of the economy, and financial collapse, which led to millions losing their jobs and their homes. After that, blaming others for everything and refusing to work with each other. And now we have Trump, who feeds of division and finger pointing, so things will get worse before they get better. Maybe he will inadvertently push the nation over the limit, and people will come to their senses.

Whatever sanctity there would have been for an event like 9/11, once Bush, Rove and Cheney decided to appropriate it for their slimy warmongering purposes, it was lost. Those of us who tried to say that Iraq was a dumb idea were called unpatriotic traitors - and that was the polite version. If blindly backing that sort of cabal of warmongers is a requirement for patriotism, my response were and still is: You can keep it.

The current system doesn't work any longer. The current system as it stands now appears to be only good for a few things: give aways to the voters, running up more debt, and re-electing the incumbents. That's it.
You might be right, but it's still worth fighting for to maintain the American way of life. Luckily, there are still many, many Americans who will keep us away from that European (socialist) style or dictatorship system you speak of.
