Fredo? If the Trump syndicate had someone of that intellectual caliber, he’d be the brains of the operation.
I'm willing to bet that one thing that Mueller will hone in on with Manafort is everything that Jr. said during the Trump Tower meeting. Such as mentioning talking with Trump during the two phone calls he made. It's likely that Jr., not being the sharpest knife in the drawer, ran his mouth in overdrive bragging about keeping Trump up to speed on every detail of the meeting. And that would contradict his testimony before Congress that Trump knew nothing of the Trump Tower meeting. Fredo, I mean Jr., could be in serious trouble.
Team Mueller is using classic interrogation strategy.
Manafort understands he is on his own. He's out of the fight with no possibility of a pardon here.
He's meeting alone with the interviewers, no attorneys present.
The more he talks, the better chance he has of spending at least some of his remaining days in a room that does not include a stainless steel toilet/sink combination.

Naaa... won't need Secret Service guards. The SS will just set up security requirements, and Trump and the Trumpkinlettes will be in their own isolated area. Then the regular guards can take over.
