And they can prove anything they want with that. How do you PROVE that you misspoke? You can't so that means you MUST have lied on purpose. That's exactly what they did to Flynn. Comey says he didn't lie and Mueller says he did. Boom charged without proving anything. You don't have to prove a damn thing to charge someone with anything, you only need to prove it to get a conviction. Surprisingly none of these supposed lying cases went to trial because Mueller knows it wouldn't work, instead he uses trumped up further charges to threaten you with so you plead to something you really didn't do and get a light sentence AKA 14 DAYS IN JAIL!
The burden of proof is on the prosecutor to prove the lie was made knowingly and willfully. That is why your premise that someone can just get tripped up on a minor point and... ooops, its perjury(!) doesn't work in the real world. In other words, the prosecutor doesn't just have to show the defendant lied, he or she has to prove - beyond a reasonable doubt - that the Defendant knew he or she was lying at the time. Usually, this can only be achieved by proving that the falsity concerned something so important and/or that occurred so recently that no reasonable juror could believe that the defendant was unaware it was a lie at the time. A high bar indeed.
We are supposed to learn right and wrong as children. Republicans must have learned that when Mommy asks you if you ate the cookies it is a perjury trap.
Some of these people aren't even worth responding too. There are quite a few posters here who have no interest in seeking the truth or debating factual information.
They log into C-D every morning just to defend Trump in any way they can and post as many fake news stories and youtube videos as they can to prove Trump is innocent and the "deep state" is real.
There's no helping them, as they are too far gone. All we can do is pray for them and hope God has mercy on them for embracing such a hateful and destructive man (Trump).

Funniest part of his post here, is that he himself fits the description ("who have no interest in seeking the truth or debating factual information"), than any of the posters he's trying to smear. Too bad he's too busy making up attacks, to ever notice the irony.

Scooter Libby was charged with not being perfect: Telling investigators twice the correct account of his meeting, and once getting it wrong. For this his life was basically ruined.

Most likely. He probably got a date wrong or something. Told Congress 2016 then told Mueller 2017. That's how little of a thing they can use to trap you into perjury.
Except for it's not...
