Conservatives are speaking up on behalf of the bill. The bill’s introduction comes around the same time that the Edina School Board reached a settlement with the Edina High School Young Conservatives Club, according to MinnPost.
The agreement was reached after a handful of students from the Edina club filed a free-speech lawsuit against the district and its high school principal. It accused school officials of terminating their club and having a double standard when it came to protecting students’ First Amendment
I don't think this is the answer, but we constantly have problems of liberal teachers pushing an agenda at my work and getting complaints.
Maybe in your bubble -- our bubble -- conservative teachers pushing their agenda.
But you know what....that's what school is about. It's about exploring differing ideas.
My kids have had to deal with all kinds of teachers with funny ideas. That's part of their learning process. At home we discuss the ideas and of course as parents we can influence as well.
The kids then develop the ability to think on their own and take all those ideas and choose their own views.
So am i one of those loony lefties because I didn't mind my kids have very liberal and very conservative teachers over the years?
What if the idea of stifling speech continues to grow and it's demanded in other arenas? It's for our own good they'll tell us... How can we live when free speech is compromised too much??
First it is the NFL, now it is education. The cult 45 is clamping down on the freedom of speech.
Indoctrination is not education. One might try clamping down on that.
