They also had the responsibility to retreat since they were on public property and not being blocked from leaving so they can be held responsible for his death.

At least in the old west, they were gentlemen enough in stand downs to hand the other guy a gun.
It was considered murder even back then to shoot an unarmed man.

I watched the video, but the news report put the father and son at fault. However, I came across the uncut video on YouTube. The victim was making threats and overstepping his boundary. What you think?
This is not self defense. They had every opportunity to walk away from this situation and handle it differently. A guy yelling at them at a dumpster in an alley, an area that these 2 do not own, is not a legit threat to kill someone.
They belong in prison.
As for the guy who got shot...not a very bright man, was he. These 2 told him repeatedly that if he got close to them, they would shoot him. Believe them.

It goes to show you that the media shows only what they want you to see and tells you only what they want you to know. This has been proven time and time again.

The orange shirt guy told them to "put the gun up and go inside". That is not a threat, it's him telling them to back off and they had that opportunity to do so. They had plenty of time to back off, but they kept telling him that they were going to shoot him, which of course made him angrier, and that's when he started talking about how he would kill them.
Before all of that stupidity, however, they had ample opportunity to walk away from the confrontation.

Dang! I knew those two reminded me of somebody. That dead guy is lucky they didn't make him squeal like a pig before they kilt him dead.
