I think it's odd that people didn't have an inkling he may not be a conservative. But I think it's odder when fans of someone -- anyone -- get mad when they discover the person they are a fan of has different opinions than they do. There was a thread here recently about the actor Jon Voight (I think I spelled that right) suddenly announcing he was a Republican. My reaction was, "So?" Then someone pointed out that he's leaned right for a long time.
There's not enough time in the world to be butthurt about the politics of a singer or actor.

He has given Concerts for several Democrats in Texas ..... include Pink Tennis Shoes with Tampon Earrings - Wendy Davis. Wendy was the last great - Turn Texas BLUE candidate.
Truth is -- Willie probably only cares about Marijuana issues, but those are basically Leftist issues and they use them as a "Get out the Vote" for the Libertarians who really only care about DRUGS.
Beto is an opportunist ..... if it takes "Legalize Marijuana", that works for him.

Willie, Merle, and a host of others were/are pretty liberal. Don't confuse country music with conservative artists.
