This gets pointed out often but I think most Republicans here ignore it .

I read earlier this week that something like 40 of the 63 Democrats in competitive races challenging incumbent Republicans had more money raised.

Raising and or spending vast sums does not always mean anything.

RNC raised and or spent (directly or on their behalf) vast amounts in 2012, far out stripping DNC IIRC, and Obama *STILL* won re-election.

As have already seen in various primary races having tons of money at a candidates disposal did not automatically translate into winning.

At any rate, the money these days is on Republicans. Obama spent almost twice as much as McCain - 778M to 383M; Obama outspent Romney, too, by 2 to 1.

Generally, the money flow is not as lopsided as I would have thought. Like you, I would have assumed that the money always favored the GOP. But it doesn't. 2010 and 2014, when the Democrats "took a shellacking" the money spent was about even.

The congressional races and the money raised can be seen on this website and graph.

I would love that to be true, but why then are the polls consistently showing Dems ahead of the general election?

The RNC used some of that money for inside surveys - like the one that just showed Pelosi is more popular than Trump. Wise use of the $$$....

Hey, no one ever denied the GOP was the party of paid-off politics, corruption, fossil fuel billionaires, etc. - I don't see how that is something to be proud of, but whatever.
