It's a bit ironic that they are complaining of "islamic separatists" because the Iranian government has funded/fomented so much terror outside their own borders in the form of Hamas and Hezbollah.

But to me it just doesn't make a lot of sense that this is the kind of action one could plausibly blame on Western powers, particularly some of the pissant little countries they are blaming like Denmark and the Netherlands.

Apparently they are also claiming that the UAE had something to do with it. One of the few stable ME nations where Westerners actually dare to tread. LOL. A good "proxy" - They are not stupid enough to blame the Saudis though - which is a far more likely source.

Of course its the old Sunni-Shia rivalry since nearly all violence in the Islamic world is either/both sects terrorizing "infidels" or the sects fighting with each other over whose brand of crazy is correct.

Israel lobbyist - we need a false flag to start a war with Iran

He rattles off a list of incidents that preceded wars.

The US has been training terrorist groups in autonomous Kurdish region within Iraq to stage attacks inside Iran for a long time. Some are Kurdish separatists, including the marxist MEK.

Well, the US gubmint *is* looking to sell $100 billion worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia, so there's that.

I guess we need to attack them just in case.

Tsk, tsk!

Don't you know that when the US trains them they're not "terrorist groups" but 'freedom fighters'?

And IF the 'Israel lobby' is so desirous of war, let them proceed without American blood or $$$.

A thousand + years ago, Islam broke into two factions, Sunni and Shia, over succession after Mohammed’s death. Sunni is the majority with endless factions within. Shia is the minority with multiple factions.
Saudi is Sunni. Iran is Shia.

The US and Saudi have been allies since WW2.

65 years ago, the US led a coup in Iran against their democratic and secular leadership and imposed a monarchy. Endless conflicts with Iran ensued including the US Navy taking out a commercial civilian airliner carrying 300 passengers.

Demonization of Iran runs deep in mainstream US politics, regardless of party. Both parties get a lot of mileage out of remarks about Iran being the world’s chief sponsor of terrorism. Yet, the majority of terrorists belong to extreme Sunni factions.

Iran is not an Arab country. Like all Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran supports the Palestinian cause.

The largest Jewish population in the ME, outside of Israel, live in Iran. There are 60 synagogues in Iran. People are free to worship as they choose. Proselytism however, is strictly forbidden. Jews are elected to Iran’s Parliment. Non- Muslims are free to drink alcohol. Muslim women are expected to cover their hair in public.

In contrast, there are no synagogues or churches in Saudi Arabia. People are not free to worship as they please. Women are expected to be covered head to toe when in public. Everything is segregated by gender.
Wahhabism is the ultra conservative sect of Sunni Islam and has had an alliance with the House of Saud of hundreds of years. Terrorism and Wahhabism are two peas in a pod.

15/19, 9/11 hijackers entered the US on Saudi passports and tourist visas acquired in Saudi Arabia. Saudi denied being involved. Alrighty then.

Israel was a source of the claim Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Alrighty then. What was sold as a no more than a few weeks engagement turned into years each costing the US $ 1trillion/ year. Bush Admin eventually agreed to withdraw troops beginning in 2008 and conclude in 2011. Obama Admin honored the agreement. Iraq had no interest in an extension.

The Obama Admin took a moderate approach with Iran and agreed to return Iran’s own money and support their integration into the global economy in exchange for agreement to not pursue nuclear weapons. Independent agencies have certified Iran’s compliance 9 x. Tillerson and Mattis have certified compliance.
Yet Netanyahu continues grandiose anti- Iranian performances as he has done for nearly 30 years. Trump Admin pursued new sanctions, voiding the agreement.

Trump and prime time Fox News celebrities perpetuate the perception that the US used general revenues to pay Iran to comply. Why do they choose to not make clear it was Iran’s money.

Obama opposed allowing 9/11 survivor families from pursuing Saudi in US courts because it opened the door to the US being charged with crimes in foreign courts. Lord knows there are more than enough Historical crimes that could be pursued. Congress did not agree and overrode Obama’s veto. No one knows how this will proceed in US courts.

The US does not need oil from Saudi Arabia. It does however enjoy leverage to compell Saudi to control the volume of oil it produces and sells and that it uses the USD to quote and settle trade. In contrast, Iran quotes and settles in multiple currencies. Their buyers don’t need to convert their currency to USD. The US has no issue with currency manipulation so long as it continues to artificially prop the USD.

You should apply for a job as Iran's propaganda minister. Looks as though you'd do well at it. You clearly believe Iran is the cat's meow.

That is a wonderfully enlightening and informative post, thanks for this.

She is clearly educated on the topic, and you believe Fox News and Breitbart. There is simply no comparison between what she knows, and what you know. That's as nice as I can say it.

I don't watch fox News and I've never even seen Breitbart, no idea who he is--I only know the name because you guys spew it here all the time.

There are those, not at all unlike yourself, who look to Nazi Germany as being a positive force in the world during its time frame. Or the USSR as a positive force. Or Cambodia under Pol Pot as a positive force. Or Uganda under Amin as a positive force. Or Ceausescu as a positive force. If you think Iran is a positive force and benevolent state in the world today, that is you prerogative. I disagree with you. Simple. That's as nice as I can say it.
