Trump can do nothing right to these people, even though he's had many successes. It shows how shallow, brainwashed, and close minded they are.

I am not a Democrat.

South Korea buys less then 2000 US made cars annually, although the existing quota would allow more than 10 times that many. They don't want them. You can increase the quota to 1000 000, but it does not mean they are any more interested in buying US made cars. This is not complicated.

Right now he is making a fool of himself at UN by making ignorant claims about other countries like Germany, and they are laughing at him.

I know.

Trump could cure lung cancer, and they'd still claim it makes him a racist for not curing sickle cell anemia.

We could have growing wages, over 3% annual GDP, and 3% unemployment, and they'd still claim the economy and jobs are horrible. The virulent Trump haters are just insane.

So you think that since the South Koreans are supposedly only buying 2000 cars a year, then we should just accept it, become comfortable with the notion that we are doomed to this outcome, for all time, and we should just throw in the towel?

I said it's up the the automakers to try and motivate the South Korean people to purchase more US cars.

Why are you ridiculing Trump for renegotiating a new treaty to create a level playing field, in regards to the purchase of American made cars?

Those of us who believe in free markets believe that Koreans would be more interested in our product if we offered a better product at a reasonable price. You clearly believe the government can every problem related to means of production and sales (and everything else).

Because his 'deal' is for show. You know, to play people like you.

If the quota was 25 000 and they bought only 2000, then how is raising the limit 50 000 going to resolve the problem? Please explain that.

My next car might be South Korean, since they offer better quality and 10 year warranties. A friend of mine just bought a Korean SUV and is very happy with it. I have had two US made cars, and both were junk.

Ummmm when you can only sell a few cars you don’t concentrate on or cater to, that market.

When you can sell a bunch of cars you do.

It’s called business and common sense.

From what I read, the changes are 'cosmetic', so it is another example where a perfectly good deal is rewritten only for the sake of rewriting it. Its the same deal with Trumps name on it. Someone stop this nonsense.
He does this, just like he did his properties. He can get the PR for a huge "win", but then when it either fails to produce anything positive, or if it really makes things worse, then he can say, just like he did with the Failing Trump Casino, that it was only his name on it, it was Obama's deal (which it is).

See, he celebrates now, with no downside for him. If it's all good, then he sticks with it. If it falls apart, he can claim some separation.

I think the point is that so far, Trump has had two years, and he has done nothing either. It seems like it is HIM throwing in the towel, signing (effectively) the same deal. Is he not even going to try to get somethign better for us? As pointed out, raising the quota from 12.5x sales to 25x sales is an effective nothing-burger.
