How else could someone protect themselves from either unwanted advances or false accusations?

Do you mean required by law? I’m surprised that a conservative (therefore small-government fan) would have this question, but the answer is no.

By the relevant parents? Maybe not a bad idea.

Despite the current situation, it isn't all that common to be accused of unwanted advances.

The idea of requiring chaperones is ridiculous.

It wasn't uncommon for my grandfather's family to send a talkative younger sibling along on dates, so it's certainly not unheard of for parents to arrange a chaperone for their children who date.

Or maybe most kids don't try and sexually assault other ones while intoxicated despite what a lot of GOP folks are claiming. Nor are false accusations common.

Heck I only drank any significant amount of alcohol 1 time before I turned 21. And I didnt even get drunk until 21. GASP.

Nor did I ever try holding anyone down unwillingly while I removed their clothing.

How about making attempted rape and rape against the law. Oh, it already is against the law.

Besides, Kavanaugh wasn't on a date when he allegedly attemped to rape Dr Ford. And he wasn't on a date when he allegedly stuck his p3nis in the face of Ms Ramirez.

How about making false accusations against the law with possible imprisonment if severe enough...

It already is against the law every place I know of. Whether it’s making false police reports, committing perjury, or committing slander/libel. Committing perjury can definitely land you in jail.

/\

So I guess if the current allegations are found to be false then potentially the accuser will be brought up on charges.... Yeah right, like that would ever happen...
