Lets look at who is being accused. Its not minors on dates.
It appears to be influential, wealthy and high ranking men.
What does that tell us.

A. Men of that nature think they can get away with or are entitled to inappropriate sexual misconduct.
B. There is no point in accusing Job Bob that works down at the local garage for grabbing your boob in 11th grade.
C. Its not really common
D. All of the above.

What can we do to protect ourselves.
A. dont engage in sexual misconduct.
B. Stay sober
C. Be intelligent about who we associate with and what venues we frequent.
D. All of the above.

Everybody who dates should be aware that the #AWALT reign of terror doesn't deal in logic, fact or anything resembling due process.

Best advice - treat everyone you meet as a hostile future legal threat, and cover your arse.

Or parents could teach their children not to assault and rape people instead.

#AWALT doesn't much care if the incident happened or didn't, since the accusation is enough. Therefore, the smart person ensures that they cover every possible base to make sure they can always prove innocence.

First step, accept #AWALT and then treat everyone as a potential threat until you know for absolute certain that they are not. Example - do not ask a girl on a date unless there are witnesses and video proof that there were witnesses. Do not make even the most casual physical contact unless you have documented (again, video preferably) proof that the person gave their consent under very clear, specific conditions. Document everything, keep a detailed account of every 15 minute increment of every encounter you ever have with a person, and as often as possible, have them read, sign and acknowledge that your accounting and detailed minutes of every encounter are accurate, preferably in the presence of a notary public who can seal/stamp the acknowledgment, as it may find its way to a future legal proceeding. etc.

Accept the litigious world for what it is, and ensure every single thing you do or say has legal backup that can help you maintain your innocence.

Lightbulb Should everyone under 18 be required to date with a chaperone?

It's a good idea if your daughter is going out with an abusive drunk.

By behaving like a respectful, reasonable and responsible individual instead of an out of control horndog.

The vast majority of us guys got through our teen years without mistreating girls.

It's not a high bar, especially for a kid from a wealthy family sent to an elite all-boys school and then on to the Ivy League.

How about teaching your male children to act responsibly, not drink until they are of age, and act like choir boys to the opposite sex instead of getting drunk and adding another notch to the pole to boast about. That is what my parents instilled in me and my brothers and none of us have ever had any issue with the cops or been accused of assault, sexual or otherwise.

Any woman who doesn't want to be "advanced" upon needs to sit home or socialize with females. Try the local convent. Otherwise, accept that to advance sexually is literally why all non-gay guys hang out with you.

What women want is for only the guys that they are attracted to to "advance" on them. Unfortunately for women who yearn for this magic world, guys are not telepathic.

Guys are going to have to simply document evidence as they can get it for every interaction that doesn't become a relationship. Text messages are a start.

The thing about accusations is that it doesn't seem to matter if they can be proven or not. Thus, there really isn't any defending against them as they can be completely invented if the woman is motivated to do so. You just have to live your life.

Indeed. The most solid advice possible. Simply avoid the problem entirely.

I was attracted to the guy who raped me, so there goes that theory, I guess.
