Gee - maybe this Trump fellow is doing a better job than any of our community organizers, glass ceiling shattering women, or any of the other establishment creeps that we have been voting back into office for the past 3 decades.

Your source states "Orders for long-lasting U.S. factory goods rose at a healthy pace last month, though the increase was mostly driven by a surge in aircraft demand."

How did Donald Trump increase aircraft demand?

Increased business activities and tourism that require more airplanes to shuffle people and goods around.

I am a firm believer that some people should not be allowed to vote.

Interesting the OP wasn't saying, during the many times durable goods orders rose 4.5% while Obama was president, that he wasn't shouting "Thanks Obama!"

"Travel to the U.S. has been on the decline ever since President Donald Trump took office, and new data from the Commerce Department shows the slump translates to a cost of $4.6 billion in lost spending and 40,000 jobs, according to an analysis by the U.S. Travel Association."

"The latest data shows a 3.3 percent drop in travel spending and a 4 percent decline in inbound travel."

LOL, the last thing on Obama's mind was the economy. Of greater concern to him were re-distribution health care programs, running up debt, and a world apology tour. So you're right, I didn't thank Obama for anything other than killing Bin Laden where he gets a big thank you.

Demand for aircraft is a long-term phenomenon that is little affected by politics or other short-term things. Much of the demand is from China and other overseas nations. In these durable goods orders reports, you can get a single Boeing order that skews the whole report - if some airline in China orders a hundred or so 737's you can get a big surge in aircraft orders for that month, which is typically reversed the next month, I might add. Because of this volatility, economists typically only pay attention to the core capital goods subcomponent of the durable goods orders, because it's a better reflection of business investment and is less volatile.
