The Kavanaugh strategy is completely baffling. Sure they will confirm the guy that was obvious from the beginning - because he was Trump's pick. But in the long run, seems like this will hurt the Republicans, since they can't win elections with the male vote alone. Women are not going to forget this.
Shoving the guy through is bound to infuriate people... Anger does that. Look at Capitol Hill right now--lots of protesters who are young and engaged--people will be so angry at the Kavanaugh jammed through confirmation.

No worry........ republicans will pick up three seats in the Senate. After the first of the year Clarence Thomas will announce retirement and Trump will appoint a woman. Problem solved.
That may well be true. However, I belong to neither group but I am absolutely livid about the circus the Democrats have forced us all to endure for political points. Every second of this could have been avoided by Diane Feinstein handing that letter to the FBI when she got it instead of holding it until it could cause the most havoc. Livid. I’m absolutely committed to being there Election Day to make my outrage known.
I cannot disagree but certainly react less vehemently. Maybe one needs to be convinced the allegation was false. Maybe there are so many political circuses and smears these days that this becomes yet one more. All unfair, all unwarranted with none justifying the next.
Regardless ... neither Ford nor Feinstein should have gone public ... more generally, if there is any bulwark against wrongs it is to hold sacrosanct a respect for veracity, treat information or data with equal respect, then accept folks will come to whatever decisions they may - and accept those decisions without anger or rancor.

I’m a woman, and I am not happy at all...with the Democrats. I think you guys underestimate women and their common sense and understanding of the rule of law. We aren’t all demanding Kavanaugh’s rejection because some men are rapists and sexual assaulters. He’s not a stand-in for guilty parties. And the things people have brought up about his high school and college days is nothing short of absurd.
And anyone who claims that women must be believed is just stupid. I’m sorry, but that’s not what hundreds of years of western jurisprudence is about. Are we going to have as a bedrock principal innocence until proven guilty, or just do away with it all and people just disappear into prisons based on accusations, al la 1984?
