The spinless, cowardly leader of Canada caves in and signs Trump's new NAFTA deal. Yet another Trump campaign promise kept.

Signing the new NAFTA deal does not make Trudeau a coward. It's the least cowardly thing he could have done. Holding a temper tantrum and running away from the deal would have been cowardly. It seems Trudeau is making progress towards becoming a stronger, more determined leader, instead of a leftist/socialist who follows the rest of the herd to the slaughter.

NAFTA has the potential to lift all boats involved in this deal. It also allows these countries to stand up and defend themselves economically against countries that don't play fair, mainly China. Things work better when we work together, instead of against each other.

A good trade agreement with our friends in Canada and Mexico is a good thing as long as it is fair. The spat with Canada was largely about dairy products. I’ve heard the agreement also protects North American auto jobs from having too many foreign parts.

I hope it’s a good deal and I hope we have treated our neighbors fairly. A good deal is good for all involved. We will see what is in it as the details come out. The markets will no doubt shoot up tomorrow.

The deal that Canada agreed to signed is NOT identical to the U.S.-Mexico deal of August. The U.S. agreed to to certain changes applicable to Canada. For example Chapter 19 (dispute settlement process) from the current NAFTA was deleted from the U.S.-Mexico deal. It has now been added back, at least as far as U.S.-Canada is concerned.

The U.S. and Canadian negotiators spent most of the day today writing and revising clauses for the new agreement based on what has been negotiated over the last month between the U.S. and Canada.

Things work really great when the deal isn't screwing the USA and Canada just to help Mexico who refuses to help themselves.

I knew Trudeau would cave. He was posturing for his base. NAFTA has finally had a stake driven through it.

What base? Most Canadians don’t belong to a political party. Our political system is different. We don’t have primaries.

Eh, y'all have to wait to celebrate until it passes Congress in 2019, if it does.
