Update is it was harmless. May they catch whoever (and its's not necessarily a Beto supporter...wait and see.) and they get fined or charged or whatever is the local law to show this kind of stuff is not ok.

Maybe it was sent by someone who didn't appreciate getting a "summons" from his campaign.

Given the number of brainless Beto supporters we've got running around, it's pretty clear who would be responsible for attacking Cruz's campaign offices.

Oh yeah, I can totally see that as another possibility. Sending him some mail back. Who knows, will be interesting to see.

I'm a little confused about this story.

The envelope was addressed to Cruz, and it was opened by two people who were not Cruz employees.

The article goes on to state there were two foreign consulates in the building at the time, and maybe the article is hinting they were intended targets?

But my main question is, why were two people who were not Cruz staff members opening Cruz's mail?

What would be the point, honestly, of a Beto supporter sending harmless powder to Cruz?

Honest, I'm asking sincerely.

Could have been anyone since his own associates detest him.

As Lindsay Graham famously stated - "If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict you"...

Give him a scare and make a fuss? But there are a whole subset of people who do that just for fun to anyone (troll types) so there's another possibility.
